  • Disneyland Paris - a pain in the butt

We converted some of our points to Interval International for a week in Scotland in May. Absolutely no problem. Smooth as silk. Just thought I'd say that before I launch off on this one...........................

Previously we have tried to book Disneyland Paris using DVC points and were told they wouldn't take a booking more than 6 months ahead. (The DVC owned properties have a restriction of 7 months if the resort isn't your "home"). At the time we left it and didn't bother. Also at that time the points quoted INCLUDED the park tickets for each day of your stay.

We've tried to book for November of this year. Firstly, they won't take a booking at present and secondly they have reduced the points per night but now want you to buy a length of stay park ticket option per person! The points reduction in no way reflects what you have to shelve out for the tickets. BAD SHOW DLRP!

The problem arises from the fact that DLRP isn't totally Disney owned. The holding company is still Euro Disney S.A. (a group of "tight" bankers.)
So be warned - despite the glibness of DVC claims - it isn't all plain sailing.

Sorry Geoffa - is there anything you can do about it? talk to supervisors or anything? Or is just their way or the highway?
Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

Seems to be their way. There are times you wouldn't think they were part (if only 51%) of the Disney Group.
I just wonder if DVC members get this sort of trouble with Hong Kong and Tokyo parks. Comments welcome.
