  • [Question] Quick Blue Bayou Question?

    Well,
I made reservations for 4 PM. So I am wondering..... at 4 PM is it considered dinner or lunch? I am looking foward to a monte cristo, however I am not sure if 4PM is dinner or lunch.

    Thanks in advanced

Good question. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say dinner...but I really haven't the faintest idea. If you can't get the Monte Cristo, I'm gonna recommend the Tesoro Island chicken with gumbo.

The Monte Cristo should be offered for both meals -- it's an incredibly popular item. If it's not available, go to Cafe Orleans! In my opinion the Cafe has much better food anyway, though Blue Bayou still wins for ambiance. Call the Disneyland Info line, they can call the Bayou and get you a solid answer.

Nope, the Blue Bayou Monte Cristo is only available for lunch these days.

            Intersting...

The Molasses Brined Pork Chop was really good though (albeit slightly on the dry side). And the wedge salad and cheese potatoes are to die for!! (IMO, of course)

I'll back that up, only for lunch. There is also somewhere else (French Market?) that servers it for cheaper but not the same sides/etc. Someone with more knowledge can add/correct this info.

Mmmm, I'm not a big fan of those cheesy potatoes, but it's not that they do a particular bad job with them--I just don't like cheesy potatoes in general.

Well, I turned on the Bat Signal anyway - we shall see. I'd be guessing, and I've seen the DL Website with the wrong info.

MMmmmmmmmmm. I'm hungry now. To bad I've got a 5 1/2 hour ride down to Disneyland, or else I'd be there for lunch!

The wedge salad is superb. I'm not always a fan of. or in the mood for, this type of salad, but BB does it really well.

As for the BB Monte Cristo, well that goes without saying.

                              Re: Quick Blue Bayou Question?

Lunch stops at the Blue Bayou at 3:40 and dinner begins at 4 pm so a 4 pm reservation would be for dinner.

The Monte Cristo is available all day at Cafe Orleans, but at the Blue Bayou it's only available at lunch.

As far as food goes at either location, Cafe Orleans is the best because all their food is cooked to order. The gumbo served at both restaurants is the same but it's way better than what they have at other New Orleans Square locations. Don't get that filth from the Royal Street Veranda. That stuff's nasty.

Yeah, enjoy the dinner menu at the Bayou. Have the stinkin' $40 crab legs.

Man, I need to get cross-trained to BB.
