    [Fun] Disneyland music on piano!

Howdy, folks! So, one of my frequent pastimes is playing piano. I don't much care for reading sheet music, though. Bores me to death. (No offense intended to other musicians!) So I play stuff mostly by ear, figuring out my own arrangements and changing them as I see fit. It's a lot of fun, and I go crazy if I don't get a chance to play regularly.

Most of what I play falls into one or both of two categories: film/TV scores, and/or Disneyland music. I've already uploaded several of the former onto my YouTube channel over the last few days; I didn't mention them on this forum because they weren't relevant. But now I've uploaded my rendition of the music for the Indiana Jones Adventure, and I thought I'd share it so I can get some feedback or at least brighten up someone's day...I hope. Later videos are continually added to the bottom of this post.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http:...?v=YdcLMFqIDUYIf you go to the actual page on YouTube, it explains a little more, if you want. Anyways, I plan to upload more in the near future...Pirates, Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, maybe Splash Mountain, Star Tours, HISTA (sorry!). So I figured I'd start a thread where I could post all of 'em as I make them available.

Thanks for watching! If you hear something that could be improved, don't hesitate to let me know!

Haha, yep. It's fun to play as well, and I suddenly realized I could just do it as a fanfare for the opening title. )

You know, I was just thinking about that. I've never really played that one much, but maybe I'll throw it in there just for the fun of it.

The only wild card here is the ballroom waltz, which is really a fantastically tricky piece to get right, for me at least. I may have to hold off on posting the HM until I can nail it a little better.

yeah, no problem, I understand..the organ is supposed to be all demented sounding..being a ghost that is playing it I can't even do the Attic, haha

Now, the attic won't be a problem for me. My arrangement has a few bits where it's not perfectly accurate, though I think it still sounds fine.

Once I get a video camera working, perhaps I'll do a video tut of a little of it for ya.

Big props to you, data, I always give big respect to people who can play piano so well.

edit: After some further listening, this would make a killer soundtrack to a silent movie of the entire ride.

That was great! I'm a piano player as well, but I'm not nearly good enough to play it by ear. I wish I could though!

Hey, just a few years ago, I couldn't sound out much more than one note at a time on the right hand. It just takes intelligent practice, like anything else.

oooh, my second favorite attraction soundtrack! That one should be amazing in piano! I've tried that before, but it sounded odd to me..I think you can pull it off though..I can't do multiple keys at one time..only with The Office theme song..witch I learned from youtube, not with my own modifications...

I play organ in addition to piano. this is going to be difficult to mimic exactly as organ also has a series of foot pedals that can play along with the hands. Technique is also a little bit different. Piano playing is a bit more choppy compared to the organ which must be played smoothly. Perhaps if you play the piano part smoothly it will mimic the organ more closely.
