  • [Question] Year of a Million Dreams

When does it end??? Is it going to be over when the new year starts???

What's 2009's theme going to be? For some reason I feel like I read somewhere that it's going to be called the "year of hopes" or something like that? I could just be on something and not know it and could be making that up but I swear I read that somewhere...

I think there was something about family memories or something.

The Year of a Million Dreams ends on December 31st, 2009. From what I've heard, 2009 is either going to be Magical Celebrations, which'll be a lot like Magical Gatherings that Walt Disney World had back in 2003, or an entertainment themed promotion.

I've heard rumors with about half a dozen variations using some type of celebration idea. I'm not sure what it will end actually being called, but it seems like that's the basic theme.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

And finally we’ve heard that once the second Year of A Million Dreams is over, Disneyland will launch a new campaign tentatively called “Celebrate Today” for the 2009 season.
