  • News Golden Dreams Closes September 7th

    According to the OC Register:

The last performance of Golden Dreams for the public, an American dream film performance in Disney’s California Adventure, is Sept. 7. Disney announced back in fall that as part of sprucing up California Adventure, Golden Dreams will be replaced by a dark ride based on “The Little Mermaid.” So, if you want to see the show — show up by Sept. 7. Still, the theater will be open through the spring, but only to school kids as part of the Disney youth education program.
Not really good news in my opinion. If they’re not going to start construction until next year, then they should just keep the attraction open to everyone. Just my 2 cents…

You know, the main attraction for me was the song and montage at the end. I've been trying to find where I can buy the song and no luck, my only option has been to see Golden Dreams a number of times.

Same here. I do have the song. It was sold on some earlier DCA albums.

I guess the operating cost isn't worth paying with it's paltry attendance. Hopefully it won't be behind walls until demolition starts, the mural is really quite nice.

I'd like to be able to buy "Golden Dreams" (and a few other now-defunct Disney theme-park films) on DVD.

Forcing "The Little Mermaid" into that space is yet another dumb idea, but, after the last several years, I wouldn't have expected any more from Disney.

Creativity and the moribund Disney name are antonymous.

Really? What was the title of the album? Maybe I could find it somewhere on online and purchase it.

eh can't say that it is a huge loss but at the same time I don't like that this park is going in the negative for an attraction again, I suppose I was fine with the idea of throwing the film into the hub as it does explain quite a bit of the parks theme, but I can't s33 that ever happening and well it only has one real effect to it so it really isn't theme park worthy at all.

I don't suppose someone could tell me- well, reassure me really... Please say that the Little Mermaid Ride won't dump out in a Little Mermaid shop.inch:

The main part of the movie just encourage you about your dreams. But they don't have some of the history right.

they should keep it open for golden screams seeing as how there's not much for the villains right now.. then close it after that. get some use out of it..

not sad to see it go, but excited to see how TLM ride does..

They probaly will. It is still going to show the Show to the school Kids that are in the park with the Youth Education Series until they finally tear it out

I've only seen the show once, and already forgot what it was about. Is the show that bad, or is it that people rather be on a ride then spend about 30 minutes to watch a film?

I thought it was alright. The montage song is great IMO and was always a good show to hang out in when it was too hot.
