  • [Fun] Lego Mine Train

Sorry Peoplemover Priit for making another lego thread so soon after your peoplemover one, but seeing yours reminded me to go back and finish some of my models. This is just a 3d mock up, I have some of the pieces ordered, but before I finish I wanted to see what people thought of this and if there any errors I sould fix:

Also, it will have wheels when it is done, and I do have plans for a tender and passenger cars if you want to see those, too. Let me know what you think!

    Here's the tender:

Also, I know I've seen a drawing that is a profile of the Mine Train cars, does anyone know of this pic and if so could they post a link to it? Thanks, and let me know what you think!

Gorgeous! I think it looks great! Do you plan to put anything in the tender?

The boiler is a little big. Use the smaller Lego cylinders for the boiler (The 4 X 4 ones)

No problem, as long as I inspired you to finish yours, not bad by the way!

            Re: Lego Mine Train

I use to have have legos and I would recreate Disneyland rides with them all the time. Eventually they just wouldn't satisfy me with their un-accuracy, then I switched to a different model making medium.

            Legos couldn't do this:

Amazing model Nautilus! How much of the ride do you have recreated?

Hey hbwriter, on the post you put on my thread said you were making a few other sets. Would you have any pics available? I'd love to see them.

Its been slow, only parts of it are done so far, its been almost four years since I started, but not much is done. Every once in while I'll add a photo here

Hey, give me $1,000 for the correct pieces and I'll give it a shot.

I love Legos. I used to play with them all the time when I was a kid and my son plays with them now. If you go over to brickshelf.com and search Disneyland there is some pretty cool stuff over there.

                        Here's a few more WIP's:

My more or less complete Peoplemover, still needs a tiny bit of fine tuning. I plan on making these in red, yellow, and blue.

A very rough start at the rocket jets. I still need to make the back half, and then I'd like to make the Saturn rocket in the middle and attatch the little ones like the original ride.

A super rough Flying Saucer. I may change the size and color in the future.

I also have some very preliminary plans for a Rocket Rod, and I'm considering making a Mark I monorail.

After seeing that model, I may make a tressel bridge from legos for my mine train!

Why no stripes on the PM's. And are you planning to order these bricks from Digital Designer or from a collection. (I had limited money, so I used my limited resources.)

I'm going to make a whole squadron of PeopleMovers- the original solid ones, and the 80's striped ones!

I'm going to order the parts from bricklink.com, they have everything nice and cheap
