Is this actually sold out? I know we had a "watch" thread for when it did, didn't we?

5000 guests sounds pretty empty. Fewer than at the annual holiday parties, I think.

Thanks Brady. I thought they had made it perfectly clear when the tickets went on sale that they were having strict guidelines for scalpers. Seems some people could care less about trying to get around things.

So basically Disney is trying to make sure that the one who purchased the ticket goes to the event...

Minor loophole but if someone purchased multiple tickets, then shows up with their "party" to claim said tickets, wouldn't that be "getting around" said anti-scalping measures? Disney is only proving that someone in the party paid the actual amount, they would have no clue if the rest of the party potentially paid more to the "ticket holder" to "be their guest".

the article says it sold out "almost immediately", but it actually took several days to sell out, which really surprised me. all tehse measures in place are very interesting; it's a bummer that people will "purchase" them on ebay and not be able to go, but they had plenty of time to buy them from disney and not get scalped in the first place, it seems.

              From the LA Times article...

The exclusive event featuring the “Hannah Montana” star sold out almost immediately
It took TWO weeks to sell out!!!!

That'd be a severe disappointmen for that little girl who just wanted to see Miley Cyrus!

IMO, that little girl would be better off without it...I mean, Miley Cyrus is definately not the greatest example.

Disney warned people about this, but it would appear that many paid no attention.

The article said the event sold out IMMEDITATELY. That certainly isn't true. It eventually sold out. LA Times needs a dictionary.

Here is a question about that article.

A Disneyland employee will escort the credentialed group into the theme park
So the ticket distribution starts at 2pm. The event starts at 6pm and I don't believe they will be allowed to enter Disneyland before 6pm. So how are they going to personally escort 5,000 people into the event? Especially the ones who picked up their tickets at 2.

i've been wondering too. do they have to sit locked up in the festival arena for 4 hours? haha.
