If the Governator has his way, you'll pay an extra 9.25% on tickets to DLP/DCA, KBF, and Seaworld.

Getting into SFMM will set you back an additional 10.25%.

If he's including an extra tarriff on amusement parks, I think there will be some very large industries against it. If it's the normal sales tax, oh well.

Isn't sales tax already included or charged when you buy your tickets? From what I heard he's talking about adding a temporary 1.5% increase.

Maybe we should go online and buy our tickets through AAA in Oregon. NO STATE SALES TAX!!! (at least there never used to be)

Raising taxes in a poor economic climate is the absolute worst thing possible to do. Whatever happened to Arnold's assurances that the state's budget didn't require tax hikes in order to close the gap? I seem to remember that in his first campaign...

You currently pay no sales tax on admissions to amusement parks, sporting events, theater, etc.

Are you sure? It's not already fixed in the tickets?

The sales tax is INCLUDED in tickets to theme parks, sporting events, concerts, etc... ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

Unless you live in a state that doesn't put sales tax on those kinds of items.

                  Horrible idea.

The bulk of state and municipal revenues come from concessions, food and souvenir taxes on items bought once inside the Parks. That's already a large chunk of money.

If a tax is put on the admission price, before you even enter the gates.....people will just stop spending money once inside the Parks. And, this new tax won't offset the big losses coming from these existing consession taxes.

What hypocrites. And I'm talking about Disney. Disney has no problems raising ticket prices at least a few dollars once every year or two. But add on a sales tax and they start screaming bloody murder.

Let's not forget Disney is a business. Higher ticket prices mean more income. Of course, if people stop coming, they would get less income, at which point they'd lower prices.

A tax hurts Disney's business because less people will visit and Disney gets no part of that tax revenue. So they lose income.

When will government learn that higher taxes lead to higher revenue in the short term, but a weaker economy and therefore less revenue in the long term and that lower taxes lead to lower revenue in the short term, but a growing economy and therefore more revenue in the long term?
