  • [Question] Why is Screamin so loud when it goes down?

Okay, so last night, around 7:00 screamin went down, and I heard severla loud boom type noises. I had never been there when screamin went down before. we were in line for TSMM, so we were close. One train was in the first tunnel, immdiatly after being shot after the countdown. another was right before the bunny hills. The riders were evaced. But why was it so loud.

Also, what do you think happened to make the ride stop, and to make the riders evac?

Maybe it was banging of pneumatic pipes?

Most likely one of the trains entered an occupied zone...

"Maybe it's the power trying to come back on...?"

No, but seriously, I'm not sure. Haven't heard that before, but that sounds pretty ominous...

Odd, maybe something fell from the track hitting the supports on the way down? But I don't think that would make a Boom kind of noise unless it hit some thing hollow.

Yeah, I thought it might have been the brakes stopping a fast car, but it was a strange thing to see. I dont think it was a car entering an occupied zone, because one was at the bunny hills at the end, and one was being launches. O.o Must.... investigate...

what area of the Midway Queue were you in? The confined space of that area could have made the sound seem louder than usual. I have heard the attraction stop and the brakes do create some noise especially when they are stopping a fast moving train.

We were in the switchback, but the outermost portion, right on the other side of the planter, so right behind that first tunnel. It didn't sound good needless to say.

I was almost tempted to go ask a CM what happened, and why it stopped. I am just curious like that. I was on pinnochio and the music started stuttering and stopped. I asked the CM and she told me. She said the computer stopped working and crashed.

                Just a guess

Maybe they were doing work on World of Color and a test or something didn't come out as thought

No one was in the lagoon, but I wasnt paying attention. I dont see why that would cause screamin to go down. I was going to ride it before TSMM, but I decided not to. I am glad I rode TSMM instead. O.O

i've never seen it go down, myself. i wonder if it's a normal noise and does that everytime, or if whatever made the noise is what caused the stop. ou never lke to hear scary loud noises on roller coasters, i guess.

Did you hear these "boom" noises while the trains from California Screamin' were already stopped in there brake zones?

No. I heard like 3 booms and said oh, that doesn't sound good. I assumed it was the train going over the hill, because I heard the countdown. Then I heard 3 more of the noises, and wondered what happened, and then some dumb blonde was all:
"Are those trains supposed to stop there?? That ride looks fun!"

So, I think it may have been the brakes. Just wondering.
