  • [Fun] The Disneyland Photoshop Competition

    The Game:
Take the image below and manipulate it. You have 7 days to come up with your final product. You may edit your entries after they have been submitted up until the deadline, and you must also leave your previous version visible in the thread for clarity. Addtionally each member may submit 2 entries. At the end of the 7 days there will a 3 day judging period. All final submissions will be placed into a new thread along with a poll where everyone will be allowed to vote for their favorite. The winner may either choose a picture or if they don't want to, people will be able to post pictures the winner may choose from.

    The Rules:
Pretty simple. The final product posted must prominently feature the image below in some form or fashion. (For example: it must feature the Mark Twain as seen below. Not just a tree.) You are allowed to add other images if you would like, as sort of a collage but you must provide links to the images.
You may not use part of anyone else's submission in your own entry. Doing so could disqualify you. Editing posts so it appears that you posted an image before or after you actually did is also prohibited and may have reprocutions.

Hopefully this all goes well and turns into something we can do on a regular basis. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns let me know.

So good luck and have fun.

Sweet! Admittedly, I'm having some trouble coming up with a concept for this particular image, but I'm still planning on entering if at all possible.

We are allowed to edit our entry post-submission, but before the voting period, correct? :]

Haha I'm actually in the same boat, which is why I chose it! Im sure you'll come up with something.

As for the submission process, I was hoping that the posts we see here are the final ones. I would prefer that the only submission everyone posts is the one they want to be judged, just to avoid confusion. But what does everyone think? Would you like to post as many as you want before the deadline?

Do you recommend us withholding our entry until the 7th day? Or... should we just post them whenever we're done. I just have a feeling this could get pretty competitive! (which would make it more fun)

              Re: The Disneyland Photoshop Competition

I say we should be allowed to edit our entries after the fact, just so long as we only leave the most recent version visible in the thread, for the sake of clarity.

Coheteboy - I personally would probably hold off till near the end, but I don't think there should be any rule about that. People who post sooner will need to accept the risk of others being influenced by their ideas, though there should of course be strong rules against directly using any part of anyone else's submission in your own.

It's up to you really, whenever I get around to mine and finish I will post when it's done. Seeing submissions leak in slowly over the week would be cool too.

I did change the submision process so that you are able to edit submissions until the deadline and I added a rule concerning using others submission in your own.

Yah, that's the risk of course, but would make it fun and may encourage more people to participate. How about we make a rule that you can have no more than 2 entries per photo? Just in case someone puts one up early and has another fun idea.

I don't see the harm in allowing two entries per person. I'd probably stick to just one for myself, but if other people have the time and creativity, why not?

I guess I'll start. I had a few minutes so I whipped one up real fast. I'm not thrilled with it but hey, round 1.

                      Let the games begin...

                        Hahaha, nice. I like it.

Oh, and a couple more things - firstly, we should make sure we're providing links to any other images we use if they're not ours. (Even if they are ours, it's nice to see the originals, but that's not as necessary.) Secondly, there should be a rule against editing your posts so it appears that you posted the image before or after you actually did.

                          Haha awesome, first submission!

Some great ideas Data, I've added them to the rules.

                            I love yours, Coheteboy!

I'll hopefully be able to create a more refined version later, but since I have a tendency to forget about these challenges I'll submit mine now.

Wood grain and nail pic are both my own stock.

By the way, Dusty88, in post #5, you mentioned that you were in the same boat.
                              Sorry, couldn't resist!
