  • Trip Report 4/25 and 4/26 - Anabella and Gumball Rally Practice

    April 25

I had explained the Gumball Rally practice to my parents, and that we were going to have to get in early to be able to register for the practice, so we felt that the appropriate decision was to get a hotel near the park so that I could walk on over there first thing in the morning.

    Driving on the 57 freeway

    Cal State Fullerton

    "Which way do we go?"

    The Anahiem Convention Center

We arrived at the Anabella at around 4:00 P.M for check-in, and good enough, we ended up getting two seperate rooms.

My bed with all my homework stuff on it.

After checking in and eating dinner, we rested and I went to bed early to rise early for the next morning.

    April 26

The next morning, I woke up at around 6:30 to get up and go walk on over to the park for the Gumball Rally.

    The sunrise over the Anabella.

Well, if I said what it was, it would be redundant.

    Grand Californian construction project

A vintage car was outside the Grand Californian that I never saw until now.

Something new is on the way

Now, if information was (and it was) correct, all the micechatters were meeting up at the Brea Bakery to register for the practice Gumball Rally.

    Fishbulb drinking his coffee

After getting a delicious bagel from the Bakery, I headed on over to meet my team, The Four Cabelleros. They included me, Rex Dopey 24, MickeyMousePal, and caesarboxfan.

Rex Dopey 24 gives the "two-finger' hello sign.

MickeyMousePal wearing his new Marvel Comics shirt!

    Everyone registering to get in

    Grumpy old Lutz

Once everyone was done registering, Dustysage called everyone to hand out the question sheets that included the attractions people should ride. Once we did that....START THE RALLY!!

    "LEETT'S GET READY TO RAAAALLLLYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!"

    Okay, let's go in.

After recieving the ride sheet, me, MMP, Rex, and caeserboxfan felt that it was appropriate to go to Fantasyland since a lot of those rides get crowded very early.

Main Street looks great in the early morning

    The Big Ben

Peter Pan glistens in the sun

The question for this ride was what the color of the canopy was over the nursery. I'm not telling you.

After Peter Pan, we felt that the next ride to do was Snow White. What was the question there? I won't tell you, either.

    The Dungeon

The men's room is in tower...tower!

After completing both Pinocchio, we decided to head on to Dumbo as part of the strategy: ride it before it gets crowded.

There is also an old saying: An elephant never forgets.

    "Well, here we go again!"

Timmy will whip you into shape!!

    Let's ride!

Smile, you two! You're on Candid Camera!

    The Carrousel from above

Gotta have a pic of the ride itself

    Clouds surround the Matterhorn

    Water from below us

After Dumbo, we headed on over to Casey Jr, since we felt that would be crowded next. I personally think this ride is a lot of fun.

Hey, how about a game of rock, paper, scissors?

    Double scissors!

While on Casey Jr, SanDiegoAl was riding unexpectedly behind us!

    Pinocchio's village
    TO BE CONTINUED...

Looks like you enjoyed your stay at the Anabella. Wish you would have stopped by the Concierge Desk, I was working both nights!

          Great job so far.

We did pretty much everything on the list except for Indy, Splash Mountain, BTMRR, and Storybookland.

                        Continuing where we left off...

We were still riding the Casey Jr, so here are some more shots of Stroybookland from around Casey Jr.

                        Waterfall

                        Different colored grass

After Casey Jr, we debated over which ride we should do next: Alice or Small World. We chose Alice.

Thankfully, Alice had a 10 minute wait

TikiRoomLiz waiting in line for the ride as well.

                        Down, down, down...

Another close-up shot of the Matterhorn

                        Follow the white rabbit

After Alice, the next ride for us was IASW, since the question was how many fish were flying over us.

It's A Small World looks as good as it was on opening day

A view from the other side

                        Brother Bear was referenced here

                        Pegasus

After counting the number of fish, we decided to look at we should do next. Since we were still in Fantasyland, we decided to head on over to Sleeping Beauty Castle for the walkthrough.

"Okay, so what is next on our list?"

                        Let's go inside

We had gotten all of the Fantasyland attractions done, so now we had to figure out where to go to next. After some talking, we felt it was appropriate to head on over to the other side, and ride Pirates.

                        The lagoon surrounding the Castle

Our next stop: The Jungle Cruise

The sign shines through the sun

Where is this Jungle Crew as of now?

Listen...do you want to know a secret?

                        Good-bye, we won't come back.

                        Dance, snake, dance!

Don't worry, they have thier trunks on!

Can you translate what they are saying?

Can someone pick up thier trash and not leave it here in the jungle?

Anyway, after we found out what the answer to what was next to the barrell, we felt it was appropriate to go on over to Pirates since it was next door.

                        Yo-ho, yo-ho...

Why is the Disney dream suite still here?

The balcony above New Orleans Square

After Pirates, The Haunted Mansion was next on our list

After finishing the NOS attractions, we wanted to do Splash Mountain next since it usually gets crowded on a hot day .

Splash Mountain was experiencing a 101

Okay, now we need a backup plan. So...Winnie the Pooh was next, since we had to find out how many balloons were featured at the end.

                        Let's go inside

The ninth wonder of the world: the back of Rex Dopey 24's head!

ceasarboxfan reading the question out loud.

                        A closed-down Splash Mountain!

After Pooh, we decided to head on over to Pirates Lair and back since the question involved a certain barrell of stuff.

                        Thanks for the reminder

                        We found the Green Lantern!

                        Columbia sailed by

It was reaching noon, so we were all hot and tired, and it was about 11:45, so we decided to head on back to the hub for...
                        THE MEET

                        StarTours1

                        Circarama

Astro Orbitor was being taken down piece by piece

                        RPDigger

MonstersGoBoo! with her Water bottle nose

You see, Pinocchio, a lie grows and it grows...

                        TikiRoomLiz's best friend, Betty

                        Newlywed Hollywood1939

Dustysage came up to announce the winners

Come up here and get your prize!

After the winners were announced, Dustysage instructed every micechatter to go over and get our food from anywhere, and bring it over to the Carnation Plaza. I decided to go on over to the Plaza Inn and buy an order of Pesto Alfredo Pasta.

                        Menu photo!

MMP decided to have Rancho for lunch

                        StarTours1 cleaned his plate.

After lunch, some of the Micechatters wanted to go on over to DCA to take a look at the new Mickey's Fun Wheel that will open at the end of May.

The new Mickey's Fun Wheel is looking really great! They did a good job on applying the Mickey face from those old 1930's Mickey Mouse Cartoons

The construction progress for the Wonderful World of Color.

After this, I was just too tired to stay any longer, and I decided to just go home. In the end, our team wasn't able to ride Splash and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and the winner was the team of SanDiegoAl. But overall, the point was to just have fun. And that is what we did. Until next time, this is...

                        THE END
