Sorry, if the Jungle Cruise is drained, the Temple of the Forbidden Eye will tip over.

If you pay $5 to DLDhistory.com, they'll give you access to 800 backstage photos. Most of 'em aren't much good, but there are some drained JC pictures that are pretty interesting.

About the JC-RoA connection...well, I've heard that there's a small underground passage that lets water flow between them. Should be right underneath the walkway from Adventureland into New Orleans Square. Sometimes they have scuba divers search the waterways for stuff that guests drop in the water, or so I've heard.

Back in the olden days, the two rivers were connected above ground. If you look in old aerial photos, you'll see the waterway and a bridge that spanned it.

              SEMI OFF TOPIC:
Once on the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour I was told that when they drained the JC they found a wallet and mailed back to the owner. Since then I have contemplated making an extra wallet just to drop off the boat. I could frame it and say "This wallet was part of Disneyland's Jungle Cruise from 2005 to 2006."

I'm pretty sure Darkbeer took some pictures of the Jungle Cruise when it was drained. I'm not sure where he posted them though.

Is that "river" still underground that connected them...or is just part of the piping system of the darkwater system now?

Hmmm, lets hope he sees this thread.

I'm pretty sure it's just piping now. The waterway that connected the two rivers was pretty wide and long. Tarzan's Treehouse, the start of the Indy queue, the Adventureland-NOS walkway, the NOS riverfront, and the PotC entrance are all built on top of where the waterway was.

RoA, the JC river, and all Disneyland's other water areas are linked to the same source. Pretty cool, huh?
