  • [Question] West-side Ticket Booths

Why is it that the East-side Ticket Booths near the Bus area are never used?

Why couldn't they be turned into the central AP processing center?

Why couldnt they just remove them and put in 1 single building that could be used at the Preview Center for the entire resort? they could showcase things that will be coming to film, tv, concerts... but mainly new attractions, shows, ideas for the parks.

They're used and they're normally emptier than the ones on the M&F side of Esplanade. (BTW, I think u mean east side?)

They're used on very high capacity days, usually. The day or two after New Year's, every single line on that side of the esplanade was packed. They were probably used for yesterday and today and might be used throughout the summer if necessary.

They're used everyday in the wee hours of the morning. Then once the crowds around the ticket booths wane, they slowly close each one.

for the almost 2 years I worked at the park and all the times ive been to the park any other time... i have never seen them open.

and I just dont understand why the M&F side booths take so long and are always sooooo packed... I dont even think I ever seen WDW ticket books that crowded even on a Gay Days (and thats alot of people)

Disneyland should opt and Electronic System with visa to reduce strain on the booths

Because theyre not always needed, especially with the fact that more guests enter from the other side due to all three hotels, the parking structure, and DTD coming in from that side...

                      Not hard to understand why.

M&F tram side has lots of Guests who have parked at the Structure and are only doing a day. Smart folks will bypass the M&F tram side and walk over to the East Esplanade side for shorter lines.

East Esplanade side is filled with Guests coming in bussed in from local hotels, usually who already have their tickets with a travel package or purchased in advance through their hotel.

Both sides get used by different Guests. M&F tram side is used more since there's more One-Day Guests that come from that side.

They are packed b/c people don't go over there.

We just used them June 21, when my brother and SIL needed to buy one day one park tix. There was a CM standing there, directing them to the next available line (there were a few booths open that I could see, just standing in one place, but no one else was in line). He and I started chatting, and he said that soon enough he would be going over to the DTD side to bring people over.

I would lay bets on how many people, when offered to go to the other side, REFUSE to get out of line to follow a CM. I mean, when we were newbies, we REFUSED to take the photopass card, and when I found out later on what it was, we felt really stupid! We'd been to Seaworld first, where there was no CD of pictures, and we just thought the photopass at DL was the same, sigh. So since we've been newbies who didn't understand, I'm quite sure that CM's offer to come to the harbor-side booths would be refused by many people.

As for why ticket purchases take so long, I don't know. I describe it as every guest needs to broker a peace deal between 3 long-feuding countries...our first two visits we did the one-day one-park ticket too, and our transaction took maybe a minute, but everyone else (including brother and SIL on this last visit b/c they didn't shush the CM who was telling them all about how things worked) took ages.

Anyway, the booths look closed and empty, but they aren't always.
