  • [Question] Piece of Golden Dreams in TLM

I know it's sometimes tradition for Disney to leave a piece of a former attraction in the attraction that replaces it. Like they did in Winnie the Pooh and Indiana Jones. So what piece (if any) of Golden Dreams do you guys think they will leave in The Little Mermaid? I think it would be pretty cool if they left a piece of one of the Califia statues in Ariel's treasure room. Or maybe even the whole thing if that part of the attraction is big enough. An on a side note, I'm pretty sure they will hide a Timon sign in Carsland or on the big E-ticket Racers ride itself. )

Unique idea for a thread, TIS17. I would place the movie screen in the Little Mermaid queue area. The head of Califa would be placed in Ariel's trash can, and then dumped into the hungry mouth of Ursula, the Sea Witch.

Here's what I picture. You remember that star that would switch Califia over to the other statue? How about using that for Ursula stealing Ariel's voice?

We're not all shedding tears over the loss of that so-called "attraction". I would just as soon not have any lingering remnders of it.

I will admit that it was a good place to catch a quick nap on a hot day.

What was left in Indiana Jones?

And I think no reminder for this one would not bother anyone.
I have spent 80 days of my life at Disneyland.

IJA has an Eeyore sign from the old parking lot by the projector. I think remembering old rides is a nice touch. I even like the shout out to Superstar Limo in Monster's Inc.

in the projector room in the queue there is an old Eeyore parking sign on the wall towards the back. Either that or just a figure of Eeyore, I've never found it. Not as obvious as the heads in pooh.

How about if they replaced Ursula with Whoopi Goldberg?

In all seriousness, maybe they could have a smaller replica of the Califia statues in the treasure room.

I think this is a good idea if the scene is ever used in the attraction.

I don't understand the hatred for Golden Dreams. It gave the park a heart and explained why California is an important place. Theme parks don't just have to be about mindless fun. There can be learning and moving experiences as well (spoken by a true EPCOT Center fan).

I'm trying to think of a way to incorporate an old Chinese guy and little kid getting blown up on the side of a mountain...

                      Nope.

Best to leave this turkey in the past and maybe put in a reference to the old parking lot.

How about a nod in the Little Mermaid ride that would feature Cesar Chavez juggling carrots and potatoes underwater while attempting to balance a cabbage on his head.

I don't get it either. I actually liked this attraction...and it really brought together the theme of the park for me.

But this is from a guy who thought DCA was great as it was (although in need of a few more attractions)

Here is what I think they could do:

                            (1) make a mural in the queue that is similiar to the mural that was on the front of the theater, but with TLM characters

                            or

                            (2) place 1 of the heads of Califonia somewhere hidden in the attraction
Known in most other circles as "HauntedOne999"

"There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!"
