  • [Question] Cars Land vs. Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Which has you more excited?

Just wanted to see what everyone thinks about Carsland being built at DCA and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter being built at Universal Studios Florida. They both seem kind of similar (new land with a major e-ticket + supplimentary attractions). I was wonder which one you guys/gals think will be better and which has you more excited?

Here are some brief facts about both:

    Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Location: Universal Studios Florida (New land at Islands of Adventure)
    Attractions:

Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey e-ticket (Uses next gen ride technology)
Flight of the Hippogriff (Rethemed Flying Unicorn)
    Dragon Task (Rethemed Dueling Dragons)
    Untitled Interactive walkthrough adventure
Various themed shops & restaurants based on Hogwartts Castle and Hogsmeade village

    Carsland
    Location: Disney's California Adventure
    Attractions:

Radiatior Springs Racers e-ticket (uses advanced test track ride tech)
Luigi's Tires (new version of old Flying Saucers)
    Mater's Junkyard Jamboree (C-ticket)
Various themed shops & restaurants based around Radiator Springs

I am personally more excited for HP because of the new ride tech but I am also pretty pumped to go on the Radiator Springs Racers and Flying saucers!

Very hard to say, but I know the chances of me actually experiencing Cars Land are much greater, so it's certainly a bigger deal in my mind. The Harry Potter business won't have Cars Land's thematic appropriateness issues, as far as I know, but both should be pretty impressive in and of themselves.

Truthfully im more excited about Wizarding, all the new technology being invented and used for it. And usually I'm not excited about Florida stuff.

To be completely honest, Carsland has no appeal to me at all. I enjoyed the film but I don't see an entire land holding its own. At least HP has more to work with.

Not to mention a massive fan base which Cars couldn't dream of having.

It really depends on what kind of rides your into. It seems that HP's ride are more thrillrides whereas Carsland is more family friendly "mild but wild". They both have good rides. If I wasn't such a thrill ride coward I would be excited about the Hippogriff ride. I always wish that I could ride a hipoogriff but knowing it will just be an advanced roller coaster...

                  I agree.

The Harry Potter franchise appeals to more
then one demographic then Cars does.

However the demographic Disney is after
is one that the company has yet
                  to acquire.

Definitely true, but even that aside...it's a pretty easy choice on whether you'd rather be immersed in Radiator Springs, a seemingly empty environment with little or no meat to it or an entire environment that's been reinforced by numerous books and movies.

I don't like Harry Potter at all, so Cars Land.

Its hard to say for me I mean since i was ten years old i have been immeresed in the HP books when the first book came out. And Cars is only one movie with a mild background. Although i would have to say that being closer to Disneyland makes me more excitted.Almost settling!

Although the new Radiator Springs Racers is going to be really fun!!!

                        Hope I was helpful!

I think that you all are underestimating the popularity of Cars. Name another film with the amount of Merchandise that Cars has after 4 years. The only one I can come up with is Star Wars.

Actually the Hippogriff ride is a family friendly coaster similar to Gadget's go coaster and the Goofy's sky school thing at DCA. Its not one of the big coasters with loops and launches. So you would be able to go on it! Plus I hear the queue starts with a walkthrough of Hagrid's hut! =D

                              star wars
                              star trek

                              lord of the rings

just two seconds of thinking off the top of my head, to be honest I'm not too excited about carsland. I am excited about the Harry Potter theme, I'm not even into the movies that much haven't read the books but I think it's a cool idea and it will work very well as a theme park attraction. Cars...eh, it was a good movie not great I guess it fits into the theming of DCA.
