  • [Idea] New show above the Starcade arcade?

When my sister and I went to Space Mountain, we noticed a space vehicle( I forgot the name of it) in the starcade arcade. So after we rode Space Mountain, we asked a cast member what's in the second floor. He said it was empty space ( lol! get it ? Space Mountain, empty space? nevermind...), and nothing is planned for that area. He also explained that the 2nd floor used to be more arcade games. So I was wondering, why couldn't Disneyland convert that space into show area or at least put more games up there .

Why did they remove the games in the 2nd floor anyways?

And what kind of show you guys think would fit in the 2nd floor of Starcade arcade?

That vehicle would be an X-Wing fighter from Star Wars

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Personally I think the wisest use of that space would be to make a two-level dark ride, with the exit feeding into Star Traders much like Star Tours does on the opposite side.

What would the theme be for the ride, KEBSD?

I think they should do a show based on Lilo and Stitch ( since they're lacking any Stitch rides/show at disneyland). I think it would be neat if they bring a attraction that's simillar to the Stitch Escape one at WDW, but with a different plot.

Apparently, someone complained that some of the arcade games were too violent. Disney then removed any remotely violent games from the Starcade and consolidated what was left on the first floor. This happened sometime between 1999-2000.

It's too small for a show and do we really need two show venues next to each other? I say move Red Rocket's there, install a new show in the Magic Eye, reinforce the roof/outdoor patio and reconfigure the SM line to make an outdoor dining area up there for the new restaurant. Then demo RRPP and Innoventions and build a new E-ticket there, an Indy-like futuristic adventure dark ride.

You know…the Mickey in us.

why a stich and lilo show in TL?
                  It wouldn't fit
nor do I see a big demand for them

To that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.

I remember being on the second floor in 1999 and it was largely a big open space with a dozen and a half or so arcade games and some air hockey tables. No where near the game density downstairs had, but it was usually quiet up there.

The second floor is a very, very small space. It's not even as big as the arcade down stairs.

I was always more shocked that they never made it part of the line for space mountain.

Also a MAIN issue is that the Second Floor access is NOT ADA complainant, and there is no way to place an elevator into the space without a MAJOR remodel and expense. Cheaper to keep it close than make a few bucks on a few Air Hockey Tables and a few other games that were on the upper level.

Are you kidding? Do you know how much most fans of WDW absolutely hate the Stitch Escape and the fact that it exists in Tomorrowland?

I'll probably get slammed for this response but here it goes:

Build either an a) virtual reality arcade or b) laser tag arena.. but a really really nice one, not like the quasi-arenas that you see at Magic Mountain.
