  • Trip Report CM Holiday Party December 7th, 2009

I awoke in the morning dreading and looking forward to annual CM Holiday party. Partly due to the rain and the frigid temperatures but at the same time, enjoying the park with so few people. Lets face it, who wouldn't enjoy virtually all attractions that are walk-ons?

As the day progressed, the rain did stop, but it was still freakin' cold! With multiple layers we made our way to the park. They parked us in "Goofy" and we were off to see friends and enjoy the night.

I liked how the light from DCA and the Paradise Pier Hotel looked from the structure.

The DL closed to the public at 6 and we patiently waited till 8 to be let in.

Once the gates opened we were off.

There was even a lighting ceremony for the Castle.

    (before the lighting ceremony)

As usual, we went straight to get our Holiday party pins. We grabbed some hot chocolate and then headed off to Small World.

It was a nice surprise to find that our voyage through was warm.

Next we headed off to Fairy Hallow. I've never been there since the lines always seem to be more than an hours wait.

    I found a fairy

I loved their little fairy homes. They look so cute.

Earlier I noticed how pretty the light from the Astro Orbiter looked at night.

Then we were off to the west-side for more adventures.

A nice night cruise around the jungle and avoided the stamped by a "rare orange and black striped zebra with sharp teeth".

Then we traipsed to may favorite part of the park for Christmas...New Orleans Square

We waited in line to see Princess Tiana, but the fire alarm went off and everyone had to leave the area for safeties sake.

Since we were in the area, we went on the Haunted Mansion and then went to BTMRR.

Forget the wildest ride in the wilderness, it was the coldest and its effects were better than Botox.

    The pretty tree of lights

Now it was time to wind down a bit. Off to Fantasy Land...here we go.

I got the bright idea to ride Dumbo after freezing on BTMRR

We tried to warm up on Pinocchio

We meandered around a bit, taking more pictures of the castle from various angles.

The reflection looks purty in the moat.

We couldn't believe how fast four and a half hours can fly by. There was no hurry to get from point a to point b. Just a nice, relaxing time.

    Nite, Uncle Walt!

Nice pics, and a nice report as well. I noticed on Sunday that Small World Holiday seemed to be heated, either that or all those light bulbs are warmer than I thought!

First Ride, The Disneyland and Santa Fe Railroad.

You parked right by my friend and I last night! Glad you had a great time, and it was nice having the park be nearly empty throughout the night.

So who gets to decide at these CM parties which CMs become the visitors and which CMs are working to serve them?? It seems like a paradox!

Its two nights in a row, plus there are two other nights where CM's mix in with regular guests. Everyone gets in free (we all bring a toy for Toys for Tots) and all the merch in the stores is 50% off!!! No lines for anything, it was awesome! Our family had a wonderful time! Thanks Walt!!! Merry Christmas to all.

Glad you had a good time, and I'm glad the rain broke up before the party started. We had one more good downpour in the park just before 5 pm, and then it tapered off. But the WIND picked up as I was leaving just before 6 pm. They cancelled the fireworks last night, which was no big surprise. The clouds were zooming by fairly quickly with that wind.

You weren't kidding when you said it was cold. I was freezing my butt off, and it didn't help that my feet were soaked from taking shots earlier in the day. By 8:00 it must have been in the 40's. How fun to be in the park all decked out for Christmas and have it nearly empty.

Thanks for your report and for posting your pics!

Sorry to hear that you froze your feet. We rode the tram in and boy was I sorry that I opted to leave my scarf behind in the car. That was the dumbest thing I did.

To enter the party, if you aren't a CM, you are the lucky spouse, significant other, and/or friend that gets invited. The tickets are for the CM and: their dependents, 1 guest, and or parents. Ie: since it's just my husband and I, it's just the two of us for entry that night. If we had kidlets, then it would be us and the number of children.

From what I've been told, since there are four different dates for the parties, they can request time-off for the date they would like to attend. I've heard that is usually works out.
