  • Disneyland pod casts?

Are there any pod casts that talk about Disneyland or the other theme parks?

yes, but I am not at home right now, nor do I have my iPod with me. I will try to remember to post links late tonight or tomorrow with a few.

Disney Online does several podcasts that you can download. Go to the site and search for it. I think it is in the Disney Insider section.

There are also several other podcasts available. you should just be able to search for them in google.

There are many. Some of my favorites are Inside the Magic http://www.distantcreations.com/insidethemagic, which is a WDW florida based podcast, and Window to the Magic pbarrie.libsyn.com which is a sound "environment" type show based on DL. Another good one is Mouseguest http://www.mouseguest.com, which is also DL based. You can find more by searching for "Disney" at www.podcastalley.com or via ITunes.

                Re: Disneyland pod casts?

A new, sort of, web site run by Paul Barrie, Jr. of Country Bear Playhouse web site, has a new site called Windows To The Magic. They do podcasts from Disneyland and are now experimenting with vid casts as well. he has 14 podcasts that are all downloadable and playable on your computer as MP3 files. The vidcast is MEG4 so that needs Quicktime 7. What Paul does is go to one of the Parks wearing a stereo mic and recording device on his arm. He then walks thru one of the Parks to a destination so it's just like you are there. All the ambient sounds and when you get to a destination you go on the ride or listen to the show. It's really well done and the sounds are great. Paul also narrates and explains things during the podcast and even has constests from time to time to see who can guess which park you are in and what attraction you end up at. There are prizes and later this year he will be giving away a Ipod Shuffle player.

Here is the URL to the Podcast part of the site:

Give it a listen and let him know what you think.

They're pretty much radio shows, except instead of listening to them on the radio at a certain time, you download them to your iPod (or another mp3 player or even just to your computer) and then listen whenever you want. Since they are fan made, there are thousands of topics to choose from, so you'll be guaranteed to find something you like.

Personally, I love 1313southharbourblvd.com's Lost in Disneyland podcasts. Very nice!

                      Re: Disneyland pod casts?

I thought the same thing about podcasts when I first heard about them, so I didn't pay any attention to them because I don't have, or want, an Ipod. Then I found out that people just make a sort of radio show, compile it into at edited MP3 file and you can listen on any Mp3 type player or just download it to your computer and listen to it whenever you want. I even collect a series of Harry Potter Podcasts about GOF and burned them onto a CD and then I can listen to them on my shelf stereo or MP3 portable disc player on the long bus trip to Disneyland and back if I don't have anything to read. They are kind of neat, and you can find podcasts on just about everything.

I just wish he would update again, looks like he isn't going to be doing the show anymore.

                            ^^ Here you go... http://1313southharborblvd.com/wordpress/
Just scroll down and you'll find the links to the various past shows.

edit - I almost forgot, though this doesn't directly have anything to do with DL, everyone should also check out http://www.oldradiofun.com/blog/ They are doing a series on Disney and there's a great interview with Walt himself on there, as well as old movie promotions.
