  • [Other] Please oh Please Bring back the Cascade falls!

Now with the River drained, it would be a great time to Rebuild the Cascade Falls!
    Hey Dreams come true right?

For those of you who might not have seen or experienced the Cascade falls, it was an incredible mountain with cascading water falls that was across from where Thunder Mountain is today, above where the mine shaft is currently sitting (across the walkway from thunder) The Waterfalls were beautiful and added a beautiful sound to the whole area and also were a part of the elaborate Rivers Of America water filtration system!

Anyways, looking at the incredible pictures today posted on Yesterland, brought me back to thinking about this incredible gem at Disneyland! I hope someday soon it can be rebuilt. Apparently decay and termites along with years of neglect forced the waterfalls to be bulldozed, but hopefully we can see a beautiful version 2.0!

In case you have not seen the post yet, Check out the incredible new Yesterland post , you can zoom into the actual picture of the Waterfalls if you scroll down to the picture of the MineTrain and the Rivers of America, Zoom into around where the river and the Mark Twain dock is you will see the falls! Awesome!

It really did add so much energy to the area. I loved seeing it and hearing it. It tied in very well visually too. They should bring it back

Cascade Peak was awesome and the Mine Train skirted around it, going behind the big waterfall at the bottom and going in front of a couple other waterfalls. You were just inches away from these massive walls of water and you could feel a fine mist and it was loud!

Cascade Peak and the waterfalls were visible from Tom Sawyer Island and from all of the watercraft that went around the Rivers of America.

I love Yesterland! Thanks for the heads up on those aerial photos, the zoom and detail are fabulous! I agree, I'll vote for bringing back the falls, they do look wonderful. And thanks Bob Weaver for those gorgeous color pics! More landscaping and water and mountains - less concrete! Maybe the Disney designers should look over all the old stills again to get some ideas on what to do with DCA :yuck: Maybe they could fill DCA up with all the great Disneyland stuff they've taken away over the years!

I was surprised in the Yesterland pictures how big of a structure they actually were. It would be nice if they brought them back, but highly doubtful ( no money in it).

I would love to see this back on ROA. However it seems these days if it doesn't have rocks and waterfalls it isn't Disney themeing (FNSV, LM in MK, RSR). I'd like to see that changed up if they do brink back Cascade Peak.

While it would be nice and there were initial rumors it wont happen

Construction would have already had to have started if they wanted to have the system running by the summer

Re: Please oh Please Bring back the Cascade falls!

great pictures, it reminded me of how nice it was to sit on Tom Sawyers Island and just watch the waterfalls. It would have been nice if it had not disappeared. If it was rebuilt it would need to be just as majestic as it was and that would require tearing up other nice scenic areas along frontierland and the river.

I think that for now it should stay a memory. Now we could just walk across the esplanade and take in the beauty of Grizzley falls and rapid falls

Thanks for the pictures, Bob! I had forgotten the Falls were on both sides of the Peak. It was a beautiful part of the River. It would be nice to have them back again since beautiful waterfalls are getting scarce in the Park. Sorry, but I don't like the diminished Schweitzer Falls nearly as much as before The Disaster.

I like the how the ROA is now.

Some things aren't meant to return and Cascade Peak is one of them.

And Weekly-Visitor is correct, they would've started at the beginning of this refurb.

Cascade Peak is great, but let it Rest In Peace at Yesterland.

Bob Weaver, thanks for the great photos.

When were the falls taken down? Sadly, I don't remember ever seeing them .

Wow, that's gorgeous. I can't believe they ever took anything so cool out.
Plus, rebuilding it (along with Nature's Wonderland as a whole) would give Frontierland some much-needed movement and ride capacity.
