  • [Question] What Do You Use To Carry Things Around The Parks?

Do you carry a purse? Backpack? Manbag? Just use your pockets?
State your answer & get a free churro! (This offer is only valid 2 seconds after the OP posts)

I use my pockets and should probably use a backpack. When you go on rides like Splash Mountain, you don't want your electronics to get wet.

I opt for a typical Jansport backpack (black, of course, must be ubergoth in all things always ), but it gets the job done and holds camera, whatever small merch I buy, emergency soda, very small rocks, hissing cockroaches, etc etc....

We do apologize for this post getting silly at the end, and shall notify the management immediately of this problem.

I carry a mini-backpack. It is about half the size of a regular back-pack. It has a compartment already in it for credit cards and cash. It works out really well for me. I am trying to convert my mom from the fanny pack (dear me...) to a backpack...

Pockets, I don't like to have much with me. I have to roam free, I can't be weighed down.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

I'm a minimalist. I use my pockets, unless bringing a large camera. I usually carry a point and shoot, which fits in my pocket. On Splash Mountain, I cover it with my hands to keep the bulk of the water off of it. My pants do the rest.

Anyway, I just don't like being burdened with things to forget or drop or bang into other people as I slip through the crowds.

Re: What Do You Use To Carry Things Around The Parks?

Since I'm an amateur photographer who typically spends the whole day in the park (and a total of nearly six hours getting there and back) and has a rather finnicky stomach and pair of feet, minimalism is something I unfortunately can't afford. My current plan of attack is to just bring one regular-sized backpack containing food, a change of shoes, my iPod for use while I travel, my camera, and perhaps an additional lens or two if I've got room. I used to bring my camera bag in addition to this so I could bring all three lenses and a mini tripod and so forth, but it was just weighing me down too much.

Oh, and my pockets definitely get a workout, but that's nothing unusual.

^^^ I'm a minimalist too. I'm thinking of getting one of those little Nike backpack bags to carry stuff around in.

It depends on how long I'm spending in the park. If it's an all day escapade and I'm not leaving for any breaks then I carry a backpack. If it's just for half the day then I usually just stash my money and ap card in my pocket and my cell is hanging on my pocket also. I've never liked to carry around stuff, so I only do so when I have to.

Yeah, the backpack is for full days (I don't go back to the hotel).
If I bring the backpack I usually get stuck w/ other ppl's things.
Usually the backpack is for a blanket if we watch F!

this is EXACTLY what i do!

but i also take that same backpack if i plan to ride Grizzly River Run, regardless of the length of stay.. because that backpack contains a change of clothes.
