  • [Rumor] Luigi's Flying Tires Testing This Wednesday

I was just informed by a reliable source, he got in writing, that Disney will be doing testing for the vehicles for Luigi's Flying Tires on Wednesday in an undisclosed location. That is all!!

Any questions, comments, suggestions, worries, wishes??

EDIT: Whoops, did I put "cars?" I meant to put "tires." If a Mod can change that, it would be great, thanks!

One of the dads on my sister's soccer team works for the Disneyland Resort and he was telling us about how he and his daughter were able to test this attraction. He was telling me about it, and from the way he described it, this attraction will be great! Apparently, the warehouse that the attraction is being tested has lights strung up above the vehicles and cardboard cutouts of the scenery around the ride. It will really be a attraction when it's completed.

Here are a couple pictures from the Imagineering book "Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making Magic More Real" One is of a proposed ride system for Luigi's Flying Tires and a prototype for Junkyard Jamboree.

It's been said that it's basically an updated version of the old Flying saucers.

No, that is Luigi's Flying Tires... Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is thought to be using a whip ride technology if I'm not mistaken.

No, that's the flying tires you're thinking of. The Junkyard Jamboree will use swinging, rotating tractors, I believe. It should be roughly on par with the teacups, from what I know - a fairly unremarkable but enjoyably dizzying ride system, with enough thematic trappings to make it fit in the surrounding land.

EDIT: Beaten to the punch, hehe.

Just FYI, it's been reported already that it's going on tomorrow in front of the TDA building.

Every land needs a few attractions like this, though IMO. You can't build a park with just E-tickets!

                              According to the people:

The test was interesting. Certain things were tested.
