  • [Question] Starbucks on Main Street

Back in October last year, Al Lutz said that Starbucks was coming to Disneylands Main Street Market House. Any update on this?

Either it was a bad rumor fed to Al, or the deal fell through behind the scenes, but Starbucks is not coming to the resort. A vendor named Joffrey's is actually doing the coffee now.

and Joffrey's rocks. I love their coffee. But it is a bummer Starbucks isn't going to be there.

I'm not too bummed about this; if I really wanted their coffee, I could just walk from my house to one. Blue Ribbon bakery is pretty good anyway.

I remember in a recent update Al saying the talks with Starbucks were back on. Let me go dig for it.

In one of the last Roundups, someone asked Al if Starbucks was still coming. His reply was like, "That is still the plan" or something of that nature.

As much as I like Starbucks, I'm actually glad it is not coming to Disneyland. Disney has a few places where you can get quality coffee around the resort.

To top it off, Starbucks is the single most overrated coffeehouse on the planet. Blechhh!

Hmmmm. Well, its 4.55 for a Venti Carmel Frap, which I suppose is their most popular drink. If they had the same percent price increase on a soda at the park (which I believe is around 2.69) then a Venti carmel frap would come out to 9.48!! :/ Which I would not pay for!! YIKES! Plus the line would probably be a longer wait then Space Mountain....Maybe. I say this all while I sip my Venti Carmel Frappacino.

"Venti" mean's 20. "Tall" means large. "Grande" also means large. The only Starbucks size that doesn't mean "large" is the large.

                      Just saying.

(Yes, I know that "venti" represents the fact that it's a 20-oz beverage.)

                        Re: Starbucks on Main Street

I used to be a Starbucks barista, I feel terribly bad for whoever has to work at this one (in terms of rushes and cleanup). I would also the imagine the prices would skyrocket -- the prices at our store were horrendously high enough.

I can't say I wouldn't enjoy a iced caramel macchiato while walking around the park however...

I do happen to enjoy Starbucks, but they are overpriced in my opinion. However, Disney is often a bit overpriced ($3 for a bottle of water?!), so I think a combination of these two would make for a very expensive cup of java.
