  • [Question] Could the Red Car Trolley be extended throughout the park?

Do you think it's possible for the RCT to get extra lines to paradise pier and golden state, so it could act as the parks main mode of transportation? Sort of like an internal railroad

I'd love to see that happen. I would suspect it is completely possible.

It'd be nice, the main thing I dislike about DCA is the layout, have to do too much walking to get to different places as opposed to working off of a hub.

Very true, especially when talking about Paradise Pier (and attractions such as TSMM and MFW)

With the current park layout I can't really see how. But I have thought about the idea too and have one way I think it could work. One of the things I think would be cool if they removed BL and turned that area and the remaining parking lot into a new land, Chinatown. Then I would build a set of cable cars to match the red cars. They would run from the end of the Red Car route, basically follow the old backstage road, pass under CL's Route 66 in a tunnel, and then come back up and end in Pacific Wharf near the new arch into CL.

You know…the Mickey in us.

That's a good idea. The parksmmain transportation would be trolleys and each line would get its own set of cars. If I had my laptop with me right now I could use google earth to make a diagram of the RCT track layout, and how it could be

I really hope they take the Red Car seriously and not just some toy like they did with the jolly trolly. The red cars really could become a great mode of transportation for the park and best of all its era correct! Wouldn't fit thematically in condor flats or grizzly though.

Ii remember I had an idea that the California zephyr could be used as a railroad around the park

The Jolly Trolley and The red Cars are in Totally different situations. Jolly Trolley was in a land with narrow space while the red cars will be in multiple lands with bigger space

I thought they would already be extending it for it's opeing in 2012 and why would they take that much time to build more track, some of which is already completed???
So after 2 full days in a row of walking around disneyland and a four hour practice, I finally understand why my doctor told me to take it easy on my knee I still cant wait to do it again

I would like to see them run it across the st. to the Paradise Hotel.....it could finally tie that Hotel into the Resort....addressing the shameful situation they have now where folks staying at this "on property" hotel having to walk further than other resort guests, off-property hotel visitors who have shuttles to the main gate, and even day visitors who have a shuttle from the parking lots....in short, pretty much everyone.

It's not right, and this is a perfect opportunity for them to fix it.

This isn't a bad idea except for the very awkward layout of DCA.

The red cars can actually just follow the "Performance Corridor" and you'd have a great way to get around.

From Hollywood to the Sea, take the Red Cars! The parade stops can be drop off points to the other lands and you'd have a great way to see all of Disney California Adventure!

Don't you love how I put in the new name?!

Aside from the odd placement of the Hotel which offsets Paradise Pier from the park, Carsland will actually make DCA into somewhat of a Hub and spoke design. The layout may not be optimized as far as what is next to what, but the new connections will help greatly. If only a backroad could connect Carsland to the Ariel's Grotto Restaurant, we would have a completed wheel.

I was promptly informed previously that they did indeed run red cars through the country to a few local mountains. They could make it work.
