  • So long Pirates!

Well it seems the latest updates confirms my fears that WDI is replacing beloved characters and scenes of Disneyland's most famous attraction with a slick new ride designed to apease the younger generation who don't know why Pirates has no references to the movie. I'm 25 and grew up with the ride. This is total bull****. They're even taking out the Captain. No more "Avast ye scurvy scum!" or "Fire at will."

    New Pirates Song Update!
    Lyrics will be as follows:
Yo Ho, Yo Ho, See Pirates 2 and 3.
Yo Ho, Yo Ho, See Pirates 2 and 3!

Why not? Capt. Barbosa said a few of his lines in the movie... it wouldn't make sense to take out those lines.

According to the article the Captain will be replaced by an AA figure of Geoffrey Rush's character from the film.

I am very interested in that new fog effect that will project Davy Jones. I wonder how that will turn out.

I mourned this "loss" years ago when they traded lust for gluttony. The "hottie" in the barrel would give the redhead a run for her money ...... so to speak ....... not to impugn her virtue ........
"She's taking everything. She's taking the house, she's taking the kid, she's taking the dog. IT'S NOT EVEN HER DOG. IT'S MY DOG! SHE'S TAKING . . . MY DOG!"

I tend to agree with this statement but I am going to give WDI one last chance and if they fail I will be so angry I am going to throw away my ap. According to Al it seems as if the imagineers will get a really good budget for this and not to mention the imagineers will try to impress everyone since they are almost obsolete. They are going to try and show managers that replacing imagineers is wrong. So I will give it one last chance.

Personally, as much as I love the original/current/Walt's Pirates of the Caribbean, I think that people are over-reacting just a tad bit about this. If they stick to the rumored plan that Al was talking about, it isn't THAT radical of a change, and I'm glad that it sounds like they'll be leaving it mostly like it is. They could, after all, have just gone crazy and put Sparrow, Will, and Elizabeth all over the place and made it the biggest movie ad attraction ever, but thankfully not.

It also says the ship in the cannonball scene will be redecorated into the Black Pearl. I'm not against this movie renovation, I just wish they wouldn't replace anything very important to this historic attraction.
