Did they take the sign down? Could this be a foreshadow of the removal of the ride?

NO, the attraction is still open (there is a temporary entrance next to Award Wieners). Supposely, the sign will be relocated to a new location prior to the end of construction in the area....

i thought they had taken down the sign just to re-do it, not as forshadowing of the removal of the show.

I dont know as I was wondering the same thing a while back when they originally took it down. I was assuming it was removed because of the rumor that they're completely remodeling the whole outdoor queue for that ride - but I don't know why they would- its not a bad queue.

Maybe they needed to take the signage down while they installed the Hollywood Studios arch. Just a guess.

Does anybody have any other ideas/info?

Nope. Muppets is here to say, Disney owns the muppets. They removed because they are going to put a new entrance, which looks pretty cool BTW

I hope they don't boot Muppets 3-D-- I haven't had a chance to see it yet!

You're not really missing too much - Muppets3D has some good parts, but the show is kind of ruined IMHO by the 3D character that sparks all the chaos in it... he's incredibly annoying which is the point, but its too much and kinda kills the show..

Yep, they need to take out Muppets 3D and put in its place a Muppets dark ride. The repeatability of the 3D movie is not good enough and 2 3D shows in the park is 1 too many.

When you do go to see it, try to time it so you catch the entire preshow, as that's nearly as funny as the attraction itself!

YAWN!!!! For me, this attraction is very boring and completely out-dated. It's very much like seeing HISTA. The pre-show of the Muppets is just as boring too. The space that is used for this attraction could be put to better use. Having a dark ride about the Muppets would be a good idea and probably more fun. I've see Muppets 3-D several times, just to see if maybe I've missed something, and I have...about 10-15 mins of my time!

                        Re: Muppets 3d

The Muppets crack me up! I've seen the show many many times but I still always get a good laugh out of the puns in this show. It's classic Muppets. (not the Jessica Simpson pizza promoting Muppets).

Master Gracy is right though, the 3D character created for the movie gets annoying real quick. But it's not enough to make me dislike the show. I just grit my teeth till we get to the good stuff.

The only reason this show should ever be removed is to replace it with a Muppets themed dark ride. Which I'm sure isn't going to happen. So yeah, the Muppets aren't going away. They're redoing the area, you should expect that the buildings around there will match cosmetically.

Everytime a sign comes down doesn't mean that the attraction is in danger of going away folks. Have a little faith. (and a little logic).

Actually, Waldo predates Muppet-Vision 3-D. He was created for the rather unfortunately short-lived Jim Henson Hour (which was quite an excellent show, btw). Bean Bunny also played a major role on that show. Unfortunately, the original characters of JHH didn't get much play outside of the show. And, even more unfortunate, Digit didn't make it to Muppet-Vision.

Waldo was an experiment to bring muppetry into the virtual world. While he is CGI, he's controlled live by a muppeteer using a motion-sensing glove/puppet.

Well you learn something new everyday. Now why is Waldo such an annoyance? lol

                            Virtual puppetry? Why?

I was so disappointed with Muppet*Vision 3-D when I first saw it. And, I love the Muppets.

Disney should create a new and better film to replace the old one. The Muppets deserve something more clever.

If Disney was wanting to create a ride-through Muppets attraction, The Company should have used Superstar Limo.
