  • [Question] Line-Wait Tracking Cards - New?

Went to Disneyland yesterday and as we went past the guy at the entrance to the Space Mountain queue he gave us a red plastic card on a lanyard and told us to give it to the "how many in your party" guy inside. He said it was used to track how long the wait was. We got another one when we used our Fastpasses for Roger Rabbit.

Was it just a crazy coincidence that after never seeing these before we got two on the same day? Or is this a new system?

I don't know how long they've been doing this but it's not new. My kids love getting the "red card".

i dont think it is very new, it is probably just a coincidence. i think the first time i saw these was 2 years ago? i may be slightly off and they mightve had them even before this. 2 years ago was just when im pretty sure i noticed them

Definitely not new. I have no idea when this started, and I personally have never held the magic wait time card, but I've known of it for a while.

I've never seen them before, but i would infer that they are used to see how long the line wait is.

About a year or so ago I was given the magic red time card when I went on Splash Mountain. Consider yourself "part of the family" now.

however long they have had the sign telling you how long the wait is, that's prob how long they've had the card

They had it for a while now. Long ago, they used to do it on a white piece of paper.

Oh, I'd love to experience the red card - never seen one.

Seems like you could either make the line longer or shorter by passing it backwards or forwards in line. Although there wouldn't be much point.

I've done this on Screamin before, they really trusts there guests to let them know how long the lines are.

It's been around for a while. But to me, it seems like WDW does it more than Disney.
Does anyone even bother with signatures anymore?

yeah, we did it a while ago. They are always timing lines. Believe it or not, they're goal is to keep lines to a minimum.

I've got these a couple times at Disneyland. But when we went to Disney World, we got them a couple times a day. It was kind of fun to be the ones they kept handing the red card too. Every time they would hand us one, we would just laugh, like "really, again?" But I do love getting them.

I got the Red Card one time in line for Soarin' Over California a few months ago. Prior to that, I had never seen one either. It's a good thing we updated the time for them, it was wayy off! The sign said it was a 15 minute wait, but it was more like 50.
