  • News New Video Loop Premieres in DCA's Animation Courtyard

The new video loop has arrived in the courtyard of the animation building at Disney California Adventure. The new play list features a mix of both the classic and the modern. Sleeping beauty, Pinocchio and Snow white are rubbing elbows with Toy Story 3, Up and the Incredibles. The cycle lasts about 20 and packs far more into the same time frame than the old loop did.

    Here is the play list
    • The Little mermaid
    • Beauty and the beast
    • Fantasia / Fantasia 2000
    • Bambi
    • nemo
    • Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
    • The Incredibles
    • The Jungle Book
    • Toy Story 3
    • Cinderella
    • Mulan
    • Monsters Inc.
    • Ratatouille
    • Lilo and Stitch
    • Tarzan
    • Pinocchio
    • Alice in Wonderland
    • Up
    • Lady and the tramp
    • Tangled
    • Dumbo
    • The Lion King
    • Cars
    • Pocahontas
    • Sleeping Beauty
    • Aladdin
    • Peter Pan
    • Wish upon a star montage

    Spinning Patterns on the floor

There is a heavier use of lighting effects used to project patterns on the floor of the space. It is a nice, much faster paced, loop and just as good, if not better, than the version that opened with the park.

Woohoo, good news! I can't wait to see the new loop. It will be good to see a mix with Pixar and Disney movies. And, I'm happy they left in The Evil Queen

So disappointed to see Hunchback taken out. I really don't think anyone missed seeing The Incredibles or Monster's Ink in there.

Ooo I need to make a trip to check the new loop out. A really good list of movies. Great mixing of classics and modern classics. Am kinda surprised they didn't include Wall E with its beautiful music and imagery but the rest of list is great. Glad to see beautiful movies that aren't HUGE franchises like, Ratatouille, Mulan, Pocahontas, Bambi, Fanatsia, etc.. included. Are the movies that were featured in the loop before the same or different? Love how my favorite classic, Alice, is next to my favorite new classic, Up.

Looks great!!! I agree with the lack of Hunchback, that was one of my favorite parts of the old loop.

Sad about the removal of Hunchback and the Emperors New Groove was always a fun time.

                  Good stuff though.

They should make the loop interactive. Install kiosks in the lobby with all the Disney/Pixar films featured. The system quizes guests about their favorite characters, movies and music and that interaction is used to create a dynamic play list on the screens above. It might even project the image of the guest whose answers prompted the choice.

I love the animation lobby but it is a giant space with much more potential.

Thanks for the pictures! One of my favorite locations in the park, i'm happy they gave it some TLC and updated it.

I will miss some of the old movies the featured (Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, etc) but overall i'm very pleased with the new additions. Very nice to see the enhanced lighting projections as well!

Looking forward to checking it out next time I get to the park.

How much longer until all the Pixar bashers weigh in on the fact that more Pixar was added to the park!

I will miss Hunchback a lot (great animated film and the music was just amazing) BUT to be fair The Incredibles is a Great movie too and I like its theme...

So its sad to see emperor's new groove and Hunchback Gone but the new loop does not seem bad to me, it looks pretty good.
                          Happy Halloween!!!
