[Fun] What have been your best experiences with Cast members?

There have been a lot of threads about negative cm experiences, so I wanted to start one about the most memorable cm experiences.

One of my favorites was when my little sister was carrying around a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal while she was getting her picture with Ariel. The CM that was with Ariel said "Uh-oh! She brought the boss' wife. I better behave myself!" I don't know why that stood out to me so much, I just thought it was really sweet and funny.

I also love when a cm scans my AP and says "Welcome home!" It just brightens my day.

While not a huge thing, I wear my Indy hat anytime I go to Disneyland. For some reason the last time I got a little kick out of getting off the Jungle Cruise and a CM saying "Thank you for joining us today Dr. Jones"

Just a couple of times that I was recognized from an earlier visit; either earlier that day, or that week, or even in a couple of times, from months before. I know that they see thousands of people all the time, and all people are important, but I don't expect them to really remember me, or anyone else. When they do, it makes me really feel as if I mattered.

I live in Utah but I have an AP and one CM recognized me from the previous trip, three months before I believe. She remembered my name, that I was from Utah, and even remembered giving me a free drink after I spilled mine all over the counter. It blew my mind! She was so nice and always said hi to me after that. I haven't seem her in a while but she is definitely my favorite CM if she is still working there.

Recently, a Nemo CM chatted with my daughter. He was a great guy and looked for us when our trip ended. He asked us what attraction we would be getting on next and when we said BuzzLightYear, he escorted us to the attraction and got us to the front of the line. A very unexpected but most pleasant experience.
Also, an Infant Center CM always greeted us when we came by to feed our daughter or change her diapers. She recognized our daughter and took the time to talk with us.
          Two great CMs.
I am old. But still love Disneyland.

The HM maid who took a friend and I around to the pet cemetery and through the side entrance and directly into an elevator comes to mind...she was awesome. There was barely a line, but the un-asked for approach and small touch made all the difference.

I loved how for my 16th birthday, I came back into my hotel room, and I had balloons waiting for me, along with a signed picture of the princesses that wished me a happy 16th birthday. It's definitely a magical thing they do for people. I'm pretty sure other people that have gotten the same thing feel the same way!
And at California Adventure, for that same birthday, the CM for California screamin sang me her birthday song, and I danced along to it, and because I really enjoyed it, she gave everyone in my party a front of the line pass for screamin, and another front of the line pass for a ride of my choice.

And I just love how one of the CMs at the gate who scanned my AP said "have a magical day princess".. *sigh* only in Disneyland am I a princess haha

I guess it goes without saying, but I'll say it: To all cast members reading this, for all the extra you do, THANK YOU. We appreciate it.

I was in line for Indy, in the Film room when the ride broke down. The CM saved our places in line and showed us all of the maps and cool stuff in the room right after that and explained the entire story of the attraction and everything. He was very enthusiastic and loved his job. I saw a little bit of my self in him, and will always remember that day.

Thank you to the OP for this thread it does mean alot. And thank you sbk1234!!! I know I love hearing that I have made a POSITIVE impact on a guests visit. It is fun to chat with the guests. And a little side note to all guests WE CM'S LOVE TO TALK feel free to chat with us we won't get into trouble for talking to a guest unless it's a CM that is at main console and needs to watch the attraction for safety, then we can't carry on a long convo. But for the rest of us we love to be engaged and chat to you all. =)

That is awesome that you had that experience, there are some CM'S who do go into character for Tower but it is not advised unfortunately. But I have fellow CM friends who work there and love it. A little trivia for you the HM costume is the most expensive costume that is made for CM. If I remember correctly it costs each OUTFIT 1500 for the total costume. They do look marvelous don't they? =)

Re: What have been your best experiences with Cast members?

The best Cast Member I have ever come across was while I was waiting for the turnstiles over at Disneyland to open. She went and talked to each person waiting in line. When she came up to us we had such a great conversation, about thirty minutes long. Somewhere in the middle of the conversation we came across the topic that I was there with my dad to celebrate my birthday, as he would be out of town for my real one. She walked all the way from our spot in line to Town Hall just to get me a birthday pin, and she also got my dad a badge that read "Honorary Citizen of the Disneyland Resort." She was such a great CM and she made my day. I still remember her name, and hometown.
Also, one time a few years ago, a Cast Member working over at Indy talked to us for a little while. Out of nowhere he gave us front of the line passes for any attraction we wanted to go on. He comes in second.

Also, just a reminder(Not to meaning to play moderator here ): Out of the courtesy of the Cast Member, do not post their name. *End of fake moderatorness*
All right, listen! I didn't want to have to do this, but you leave me no choice. Here comes the smolder.

Do you mean the ToT costume? Those are about a grand a piece. But thats all the components together - the short sleeve, the long sleeve, pants, hat, accessories, and coat.

The bellhops are advised not to SCARE people because that's not their role, but they are encouraged to get into the show and be "whimsically" creepy and just a little off, especially the further into the building they are and the "closer" to the 5th dimension. There's some leniency however as they understand not all the cast members are comfortable going that far with the character, but for those who are it really does help the experience. Everyone has their own show though, some more developed than others.

When arriving to the gate at Grand Californian, my dad was like these employees are trained in MMA fighting just in case someone tries to speed on in.
He asked the cast member & she she totally played along with it.
Very funny we even recorded it too.

I always love the HM & TOT cm's when they play their part well.

The reason they are advised not to do it is because we are CM we are not to take away from the show, TOT is the MAIN ATTRACTION they don't want us becoming the attraction in itself.
