Actually this is the first year SINCE my First Birthday that I won't get to be at Disneyland on my birthday. (And since I was 6 months old and at the park the week it opened..you do the math! ) ) My school district decided not to take our annual vacation until the end of the day on the 23rd..and since my bday is on the 22nd.. I'm not a happy camper.
But back to the question. Oh yeah! Best place in the world to be on your birthday. Go to City Hall and ask for your Birthday Sticker (I actually peel them off at the end of the day and have a whole bunch of them saved now). What is great is that once you have your sticker, CM's, Characters, and Guests will wish you a Happy Birthday. Even the Characters that are not allowed to speak will manage to get the good wishes across.
Also, I have gotten everything from Happy Birthday sung to me, to free desserts, to lots of spontanious hugs, to the little things that the CM's give to the kids (like stickers and such - hey us big kids love em too!). It just makes a great day even better.
So go have a great time. and no matter when it is HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
When you go to City Hall to get your sticker, the CM on duty will ask if you want your birthday phone call. No matter how old you are, say YES. They will direct to an old fashioned phone and Goofy will call and wish you a Happy Birthday. It is very cool.
I went for my 13 birthday. I did get a sticker actually, but not on purpose. I went to City Hall and asked them, since it was my birthday, if I got something special. The young CM said a very excited "yes" and I then recieved a birthday call from Goofy via the telephone on the counter. I also got a sticker, which I wore proudly the rest of the day.
This year was my second time ever that I went on my Birthday, good friend of mine from SLO met up and we went it was a great time. Also it was my first time picking up a birthday Sticker.

One place to get the birthday sticker, but you can also approach the CM at the "line board" (located very close to the hub). They even offer the Goofy phone call at the line board booth.
It's great how cast members acknowledge you and others on your birthday. It's a really nice touch I haven't witnessed at other amusement parks. In fact, the day I went on my birthday was one of my favorites. Highly recommended!

Yup went for my birthday last month as well as many other times love getting my birthday sticker and phone call. THe best part is you cannot get enough birthday greetings from the CM's and characters! Last birthday we started out with Breakfast at Goofys kitchen and I got Happy Birthday pin and cupcake and the for dinner at Granvilles I got a wonderful birthday dessert on the house. Its my most favorite place in the world to spend my birthday and I too am as old the park!
I went this year on my birthday, which also happened to be Disneyland's 50th birthday - July 17th. Dsnylndmom makes me get the birthday sticker and we walked onto Main Street where all of the CM's were lined up welcoming everyone home and telling them happy birthday and they just burst into song and sang Happy Birthday right to ME. We all cried, it was so great. D-mom (and whoever happens to be with us at the time, I've gone twice with her on my birthday now) always makes it such an awesome birthday but this one was the best one yet!! Though the first year I went, we got to eat at Club 33 and that's a very close 2nd.

Man, I didn't get the phone call. But the CM did dot my i with a mickey.
Good morning, son
In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
