I love the theming of Toy Story Land but the execution is terrible and the rides are unimaginative. If they were planning on doing something totally different while still keeping the backyard toy theme i’d be down.

Never. What would Toy Story Land would have to do with California? This is the DCA 1.0 thinking that brought us "a bug's land". This park DOES NOT need off-the-shelf, storyless rides in a gaudy representation of a film that has NOTHING to do with California (even if the land itself is well done).
            Disneyland Wooooh!

Exactly! I don't know why there are two threads on this, but I posted the same thing in the other one. No relation to California.

Actually Pixar (and toy story by extension) has massive roots in CA, and i think it could be added if done right. My main problem is the attractions are not very inventive.

I don't think that just because Disney and Pixar are based in CA, everything that comes out of those studios would automatically fit the CA theme. Lucasfilm is in California, too. I don't want to see a Willow attraction in CA Adventure.

It is not enough that the production company is located in CA, the story must take place there as well.

And i'm saying that the story could easily be adapted to the California theme. How about: The toys have come alive at the Pixar studios and have escaped to explore the city of Emeryville, or San Francisco, or Oakland.

Heck if Little Mermaid is allowed in DCA, i don't see a problem with Toy Story aside from the fanatics screaming about the Pixar takeover. Its just not a legitimate reason for me to exclude something.

Toystoryland is everything that should never come to DCA The green army men parachute is jumping jellyfish with green paint. RC racer can be found in magic mountain. And as far as shrinking down into a backyard area Bugsland does that well. No copies for DCA new attraction from now on please!

Granted a little better of an idea... but it sounds too much like bugs exploring California crops .

I've seen the "Pixar is in CA" argument before, and it doesn't fly with me... unless it is added as an area off of Hollywood Studios. Sure Pixar is here... but it is not associated with the state the way thing like Hollywood, Route 66 or National Parks are.

But moreover, this post, I think, is about placing DSP's Toy Story Land in DCA... which is why there has been such a negative reaction. No one is arguing that the Toy Story characters don't have a place in DCA. You'll note there is much less of a reaction to simply the characters (TSMM).

Ariel works for the same reason TSMM works, it comes from a California theme. Just as TSMM injects characters into a pier-like setting (Midway Games), so does Ariel inject characters into another classic California seaside setting (the Boardwalk darkride).

So no, no one is saying there should not be Toy Story characters in DCA, we just don't want Paris' Toy Story Land. We don't want to exclude it because it's Pixar... we just don't need another gaudy out of place land... DCA already has one!

Never. There's already plenty of Toy Story in the resort without adding another land. Also, I've said this many times, but there is NO MORE SPACE to build another land in DCA!
