Well, to all you people who said rain scares away tourists, you just lost the bet. I just called guest relations and he confirmed our fears.....Disneyland is full (again), despite the pouring rain. Also, the guy I talked to said that as of now nothing has been cancelled.

Re: Capacity Crowds (12/31)
Geeze.
When I was at the South Coast Plaza Disney Desk I had so many people buying "1-Day, 1-Park" tickets that they were planning on using today (we're one of the last locations that can sell them, even if Disneyland's gates are closed because we're so far offsite) and I told them to go as early as possible, even if it's raining. I'm glad that I did.
Deep down I wasn't expecting it to be a capacity with this rain... but geeze.
Most likely they're only denying single-day tickets and the sale of AP blockout tickets (I'll know when I get to the Sheraton tonight to work at their Disney Desk). I highly doubt it's to the point where they deny multi-day tickets from non-Resort Hotel Guests, Premium AP holders, re-entry Guests, and Resort Hotel Guests... but it might if a lot of the Premium APs come in and folks already inside stay inside and not leave.
I'm curious to know when it went into restrict access myself... I'll have to make a few phone calls when I get to work. 8
PS - Oh yah, just to say how great DLR APs are a great gift... yesterday I had a guy and his kids come in and bought one Deluxe for himself and twenty-two SoCal Select APs for his kids, friends, and family members. He said that if those guys wanted to upgrade they can do it themselves. 8:O

Re: Capacity Crowds (12/31)
It started coming down in sheets around 1pm today, and it's still coming down real good at 3:30. I'd be surprised if they can do the parades or fireworks tonight, but you never know...To view more of my photos, please visit: William McIntosh PhotographyMac Daddy's Autumn, 2011 Photo Thread

Re: Capacity Crowds (12/31)
Disneyland Park is currently lifted from restricted access and ticket sales at the Main Entrance have resumed (this should include AP Blockout tickets as well). This could change as the night goes on, however.
At one point they were restricting single-day and non-Resort Hotel multi-day ticket holders.
No major entertainment has been cancelled, as of yet (that I know of), as they don't make that decision until the very last possible moment.Last edited by Burnt Toast; 12-31-2005, 03:08 PM.

Re: Capacity Crowds (12/31)
As sad as it is to say I am kind of glad my very belated honeymoon got canceled (surprise pregnancy). I knew it would be bad while we were there - but this is kind of terrible. I hope all the entertainment and everything goes on as planned and people stay a little bit dry!
Happy New Year Everyone!boo

Re: Capacity Crowds (12/31)
We got there around 4 and were able to purchase blockout park hopper tickets with no problem. DL wasn't even super crowded until we started heading to DCA around 8.Looking for the truth about giraffes? http://www.menacinggiraffes.blogspot.com/

Re: Capacity Crowds (12/31)
I think the two parades ended up being cancelled. Well, at least the first one. It was raining real hard between about 1:30 and 4:00 pm.
None of the Fantasmic!s were cancelled (much to my chagrin), and neither of the fireworks show swere cancelled.
It went from being a very ugly day that ruined my good hair day into being a very beautiful night full of appreciative and happy guests, wishing CMs "Happy New Year!" all around.Member of the Disney Class of 2005

Re: Capacity Crowds (12/31)
^ Agreed, DCA was certainly stress-free.
We park-hopped from DCA to DL twice and never waited more than 2 minutes to get into DL.
Funny thing is, when we went to DCA about 8:00 the line to get in was longer than the line to get in to DL. And I have the pictures to prove it.
