  • [Question] Last Minute Trip to DL After Christmas - Reservations Possible?

kicking around the idea of going to the park for 3 days after Xmas, while the winter decorations are still up. One kid will be home from college and thought it would be a cool idea.

Question: Possible to get rooms at the Disney hotel properties on short notice, like a week before?

anyone tried this? I don't want to plan out too far ahead, especially when the college kid might have totally
different plans.. (meaning, come home and not hang with the family)

    thx for any tips, etc.

It would be best to plan ahead and reserve the rooms now, If you wait they will be filled. If you do not use them you can cancel your reservations.
But if you are trying to go between Christmas and New Years it should be at capacity.
If you go After New Years then it will not be as crowded.

It should not be as busy that week, but if you want to get a special hotel, the DisneyLand hotel for example. I would make reservations. If you just want any hotel around the park then you might be ok waiting.
We usualy go a couple of weeks before Christmas and we have our reservations for the DisneyLand Hotel.
But the decision is yours, hopefuly others will help out soon, this is a great place to get information.

I'd suggest doing exactly this. Reserve a room and you can cancel it a week prior, also change the reservation if a better rate comes up until a week awaw from your visit. If instead you wait to the last minute hoping there is room it may be sold out and the rates may be much higher.
