  • Radio Disney

So I guess the Radio Disney booth has been gone for quite some time now. But I want to know why!!! I always thought that that was such a cool concept to have a Radio Booth transmitting all across America stright out of Disneyland!

On another note, does anyone here listen to Radio Disney? I haven't listened to it in quite some time, but back when it first came out I listened all the time. Once they got rid of Just Plain Mark and Zippy and started adding alot of POP music to their playlist I got irratated kinda quick. They also scraped the "Listen Online" feature from the website.

To be honest, I still like to listen from time to time when I'm bored, especailly when I play Roller Coaster Tycoon for some odd reason.

I stopped listening when I couldn't win prizes anymore (which back then was 12, instead of the limit now which is 14) Wow Radio Disney is old... I'm 21! I won a bunch of prizes from there, what a blast that was the DJs Kim and Dean used to know who I was I called so often, haha... They even used me in one of their caller commercials because I could do that fake cheesy Disney radio talk.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive.
If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!

I remember I got to meet Mark and Zippy when I was like 10 years old at the Radio Disney booth. Then I got to meet Mark and Brian at Disney's California Adventure.

Anyways, I guess they got rid of it because nobody really cared to watch them broadcast. They were only in there for two hours or so. I don't know what they'll do with it now. It was rumored to become an AAA travel booth. They should just turn it back into the Lunching Pad. There's an office in there, now, though.

I have three daughters between the ages of 9 - 12.

This means I am subjected to Radio Disney with each and every automobile trip, or anytime we aren't at home (and thus don't have the Disney Channel blaring).

It's just bubblegum pop and the same old regurgitated caca, such as that crazy frog thing, ad nauseum. I haven't even heard Just Plain Mark and Zippy for like a year now.

Even so, I'd be happy to hear them broadcast from Disneyland again. It made it feel like there was a reason to tack the name "Disney" on the program lineup.

We haven't listened in the past year or so. Changed music and got too repetitive.

          Sorry...

Far cheaper to broadcast from La Cienega Blvd. studios bldg. than tranpsort jocks/engineers, etc. to the DLR, except for media events/openings, etc.

I used to listen all the time as well. But for a couple years now I haven't listened in. Like piratemickey said, it changed and got WAY TOO repetitive. Disney should leave it as office space until Peoplemover 2.0 comes around.

I listened for about 10 minutes one day in the middle of the afternoon, I never listened again.

I remember when the station was Radio Ahhhss. Way better programming than radio Disney... Like most modern Disney elements, I can't say I'm sad to see it go. If the Disney channel followed a similar fate, I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Me too, my son and I got to know them pretty well. They just left Disney one day, and I've tried to find out where they went. They are no longer working together and I'd like to contact them to catch up.

Why not do what the Resort in Anaheim is so good at... bring DJ's from local colleges as an internship. Was a communications major for a while. Now that would be incentive for me to go back! So lets bring back Radio Disney to Tomorrowland.

Lunching Pad with Space Mist!!!! Way better than Radio Disney. Plus, a nice built in food place means less ODV clogging the walkways!
