  • [Question] Celebrating the Golden Anniversary of Audio-Animatronics?

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room will be reaching it milestone 50th anniversary next year. This also means that it is the 50th anniversary of Audio-Animatronics, as this was the first show in which the term was used to describe the technology. I wonder if Disney has anything special planned to commemorate this. Does anyone know of anything?

I'm sure there will be some Aniversary merchandise. It would be nice if it went down for a few days to clean it up and make sure everything is working for the milestone.

I was there for the 50th of the Matterhorn (first tubular steel roller coaster), Monorail (first monorail in the Western Hemisphere), and the Submarine voyage (8th largest fleet of submarines in the world at the time) and there was 0 mentions of the anniversary anywhere. No t-shirts, no bumper stickers, no banners, nothing. None of the CM's even knew it was the anniversary. I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything.

They don't really celebrate rides birthdays....unless they want money and make invents out of it. Like with Pirates and Mansion. They may make a pin and thats about it.
I'm just happy The Tiki Room is still around!
Little and broken, but still good.

Amen to that... I wish I could say the same for CBJ or the people mover.
