  • [Chat] Didn't we discuss WDI's new Dragon on here?

I thought there was a good discussion about it on this forum. Some speculated it was for F!, or coming attractions.

I can see it going elsewhere. But for now just the MK.

This looks very nice. I wonder if it could be integrated into new lands or DLR's 3rd gate.

          For those interested, the patent:

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. I think it was only for new fantasyland's media day. I hope they can use the same technology for something like that here in dl. A thunderbird in frontier land, a pterodactyl in adventure land, some type of flying alien creature in TL....

For the money Disney has spent, the time, effort, etc., I am sure this will not be a one time only appearance. The only fears I have are: (1) The lawyers will say that it could fall out of the sky (since it's not attached to overhead wires like Tinkerbell) and cause injury to a Guest or (2) we will see it for awhile and then, like Lucky the Dinosaur, it will make appearances and then just disappear. I love this thing and hope it can be used in any Park at least in the evening fireworks shows. At Disneyland I would love to see it come soaring over the Train Station and down Main Street, circle the castle, and start the fireworks by breathing out that big ball of fire. That would truly be "Magical".

That dragons looks amazing. It also looks similar to the flying puppets they've used in Halloween Screams and Magical. I agree that it'd be fun to have this dragon in one of Disneyland's other fireworks shows as well.

What a mind-blowing thing to see, especially for children. I think this is absolutely fantastic and embodies the spirit of Disney.

I agree 100%. I really hope this technology is utilized at all their theme parks soon in one way or another.

Being that it's a dragon, it could be a cool way to kick off Mickey's Cavalcade, since we don't get the headless horsemand leading the charge like at WDW's Halloween Parties. Also as other's have suggested integrate it into F!.

Of course it does. It's not meant to be seen in daylight. All that flying gear on top of it is also invisible in the dark. I think it's pretty amazing and hope it's not gone forever like Lucky and The Muppet Mobile thingee.
