I'd heard the 25th Anniversary Edition was going to be released but hadn't realized it could possibly have this effect on the parks! I'd love to be able to see Roger Rabbit at Disneyland, without having to pop in my old 'Disneyland Fun' souvenir VHS...

Cannot wait for this Blu-Ray to come out. WFRR? is one of my favorite films.

I really hope it has some effect in the parks, I know some new merchandise has rolled out recently. It sure would be nice to have a little more presence.

Well over in DCA they just added two (overly priced) T Shirts of Roger Rabbit I think I'd be happy with him getting a meet and greet in Toontown for a few months promoting the blueray
                Happy Halloween!!!

Gather around the TV kids. Movie is about to start. It's about an alcoholic detective with commitment problems, an idiot rabbit, his seductive wife who is not bad just drawn that way, a cigar smoking ill-tempered baby, corrupt government officials, evil corporations, and a couple of murders to boot. It has Mickey Mouse in it.

Just kidding. It's a great movie and look forward to the new release.

                    .
Yes, and there's also a villain who wants to connect the Los Angeles area with giant superhighways called "freeways". Yeah, like that's going to happen. But it is a great movie, and a reminder of what Zemeckis can do with real animation, rather than "The Devil's Rotoscoping". (That's a term some animation people use for "mo-capping"). Someone here asked if this will be "the original version". I was only aware of one version. Can somebody fill me in?

There were some discreet cuts made to the masters when DVDs were made. The family-viewing TV version has some further cuts.

I was wondering about this, too. It was reported that the cuts were made without Zemeckis' authorization -- don't know if that's true, but it wouldn't surprise me. So I really hope that the blu-ray is the original version.

It's a few frames, not affecting the plot at all. Possibly not cuts but "touch-ups" to "clean up" the content.

I mean, every time I've watched it on family-viewing channels the line, "I would have been here sooner but I had to shake the weasels" is always there.

I understand that the plot remains unaffected by the cuts. My point was that it is bothersome to me that the cuts/clean ups were made, reportedly, without the director's authorization. From an artistic viewpoint, that is unsettling.

I was told that when editing was done they found that two guys had wandered, unseen, through the set. Rather than re-shoot the scene they put a toon over each of them. I'd like to see a blooper or "how they did it" featurette.
