  • [Question] Park Place Inn

    Greetings from Boise, Idaho.

In late April, we'll be taking our first trip since '05. Kids are now 4, 10, and 12.
So it'll be me, wife, M-I-L, and the kids.
Doing 5 day park-hoppers, six nights at the BW Park Place Inn.
I reserved a "mini-suite". We're a close family so hopefully we will be comfortable enough.
The room is mainly for bathing and sleeping intermissions between the Magic, right?
I wanted to be within walking distance of our room.

Wondering if anyone has any praises or horror stories about the place?
    How's their breakfast?
    Is the place clean?
    Staff competent and/or friendly?
    Pool worth getting wet in?
    Will my vehicle be vandalized?

Also, we're not the Trumps. We'll probably be eating at least once a day in the resort.
Suggestion on the best food for the least money would be appreciated.

I like it a lot, and find it has good value.

    How's their breakfast?
It's decent. It's warm and served in a real restaurant next door.

    Is the place clean?
Yes, I've had no problems with it being clean.

    Staff competent and/or friendly?
    No problem with this either.

    Pool worth getting wet in?
This is a low point. It's small and tucked into the building. You might come prepared to swim, but not planning on swimming.

    Will my vehicle be vandalized?
Very unlikely, but don't leave valuable in your car. Be smart about this. Every now and then cars in the area get broken into when valuable are left visible, such as phone chargers and bags.

Also, we're not the Trumps. We'll probably be eating at least once a day in the resort.

You have a lot of people. It might be hard to please everyone.

        Re: Park Place Inn

I've stayed there once and it was fine. Your basic "budget motel", but being directly across the street from the resort is the best feature. Like you said it's just for sleeping, bathing, and resting the parents tired feet.

The free morning breakfast was pretty good as I recall. There are lots of other places to eat outside the resort too, all the standard places we all know and love. I'd suggest an ice chest with lots of snacks and maybe even a loaf of bread and some PB&J for late night when you get back from the resort to keep the kids happy.

I've stayed at this property many times and do not have any negative comments. The people aren't as chipper and smiling first thing in the morning, but that was never a problem for me. Beds are decently comfortable and the rooms are a good size. Proximity to the entrance of the park is wonderful.

I don't believe they have a breakfast, but there is Denny's and IHop next door, highyly recommend either. Stay away from Captain whatever it's called... not good at all.

Yes, the Park Place Inn is clean and the rooms are appointed with the basics. It's a few steps above your regular Motel. I have never had a complaint with cleanliness... more like the excited kids running about to the park in the morning. LOL

As previous stated, the staff are helpful but sometimes not completely cheery in the morning. It's understandable, but they do their best to be accommodating. Haven't met any staff member who was out-right rude, but this should be taken with a grain of salt and they are human and can have "a Day." Just smile, treat them as you would want to be treated and I think your experience will be wonderful!

Never been in the pool, so can't comment.

I have never heard of any car being vandalized, as there is a 24 hour security patrol (at least I think it's 24 hours). Don't leave anything of value in your car or hide it in the trunk. As with any hotel, if your car is broken in to, it is not the hotel's responsibility. Plan accordingly and take charge of your own safety and security/

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on food, I recommend eating at a few of the counter service restaurants, but also remember that food in Disneyland will be more expensive than leaving the park to eat. Plan ahead and take snacks with you! If I remember correctly, the Park Place Inn has refrigerators. There is a Target a mile or so away where you can get food and keep it in the room. That way you can eat for less money and also get a break to rest your feet and enjoy the room!

Whatever you decide to do, have a wonderful time! For some, Disneyland can be frustrating with the crowds and higher costs for food. Just know that this is an experience you're paying for and that your trip will be as amazing and wonderful and you make it!

          Enjoy!!
