  • News A few quick refurbishments taking place in late April and early May

Disney's calendar is showing Jungle Cruise and Goofy's Sky School both closing on April 29th. Another website showed them being closed through the 1st for Jungle Cruise and through the 2nd for Sky School. No confirmation on those re-opening dates, but later this week the calendar should be updated far enough out for confirmation. The other site also mentions It's Tough to be a Bug closing May 6-16th, but no way to check the official calendar until next week on that.

I'll have to remember to ride the Jungle Cruise before the 29th!

      Thanks for the news
The new Star Wars plot summery:

Episode 7: Luke discovers that Darth Vader is not his father, and goes on a search for his real father

Episode 8: Darth Vader is resurrected and goes on Jerry Springer, claiming he is Luke and Leia's father

Episode 9: Princes Leia is not Luke's sister, making him furious (we all know why...).

I hope the Jungle Cruise opens before May 6th because that's when my week there starts. I will be super sad if I can't go on that ride.

Goofy's Sky School I usually skip, so that doesn't bug me too much. Same with Bug's Land.
Merrily on our way to nowhere at all.

I said a silent, "Ahhh, crap!", to myself before opening this, but it looks like we will miss it by a few days.
Hopefully no surprises coming. I hate surprises.

i could care less about goofy's sky school or 'it's tough to be a bug' (mainly because i'm embarassed to say, i'm afraid of the stinger lol) but i will be super bummed if jungle cruise is down when i'm there.

                Post Spring Break closures:

Matterhorn: Arpil 15-19 and 22-26 weekdays
Star Tours and Tower of Terror will have reduce capacity meaning they work on one shuttle or elevator at a time not a full closure and this is common in slow seasons.
Train, NOS square station only: April 26 through May 17th

Can confirm Jungle Cruise closed April 29th through May 1st
                and
Goofy's Sky School closed the same dates

Toontown closes at sunset, a little early May 5-9

Cozy Cone Motel(dining location) April 15-18, 22-25 and 29th through May 2nd. Just my speculation but that could be one cone at a time, not a whole area closure.

Mark Twain is closed now, reopens April 18th.

                And Big Thunder.
                Be Cool Stay in School!
Next year I'm trying for a summer internship at Stark Industries.

Pending any surprises the Jungle Cruise will be open while I'm there. That's a relief. Thanks, swampymarsh.

Kinda sucks about the ToonTown closure, though. I was planning on doing Roger Rabbit at night again this time around. Oh well.

What are the dates for Star Tours and Tower of Terror's reduced capacity?

Also, where can this info be found?

This page has the Mark Twain refurb finished on March 28.

Thanks for that. Luckily won't affect us.

I see by looking at the daily schedule on Disney's site that you are correct. The Mark Twain page makes no mention that it is even closed, let alone what day it will reopen. The Big Thunder page has a prominent announcement at the top telling its close and reopen dates. Do they only put an announcement on the attraction's page if is going to be down for an extended period longer than the Twain will have been down? Seems inconsistent.

For major attractions like Big Thunder, one of Disney's Mountains, the attractions own attraction page usually lists long term closures. Other attractions don't, such as the Mark Twain. One reason is it's not a major attraction, another is the SS Columbia takes its place, another is it's not a whole season or multi season rehab. So there is some consistency.

The major bummer is that it may not be in F! the whole time. As it's a major piece of the show, but F! can run without it.

Just a quick update on this. With all the unexpected closures recently a few changes have taken place to California Adventure's refurb schedule. This is not on the official Disneyland calendar yet, but it's on their travel agent site. Until they are on the official calendar they are not guaranteed, and with everything going on this past week, even then they are not guaranteed. The changes are:

May 6-9, 2013: Goofy’s Sky School under refurbishment.

April 30, 2013: Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will be down for one day construction.

Lean forward when the lights go out. I've intended to just let the show do its thing the last several times but always chicken out and lean forward. Once was probably enough anyway.

I call ITTBAB the "William Castle Memorial Theater" since his gimmicks are, in large part, represented in that theater (the stingers would be the equivalent of "Percepto").

And I think the Hopper animatronic is one of the best in either park.
