  • [Question] Alice Queue Scaffolding Removal?

I notice on Dateline Disney that construction work is being done on the outside of Alice, any hope that the temporary-permanent scaffolding will be removed? It's been there way too long and looks grungy.

I wish they would change the plastic painted tarp stuff on the outside of the ride. It is way so ugly.

it was the California's Department of Occupational Safety and Health who forced their hand and forced Disney to make these changes on the second floor outdoor portion of the ride. They wanted handrails and Disney didnt have a great quick fix idea at the time to fix it. Which the ride has stayed in this state since 2010.

Hopefully now they are going to put the needed requirements in for handrails which will remove the ugly temporary tarps they have now. Well see!

I share the same sentiment. Unfortunately, since the tarps are only on the castle facade, I don't think this is the long-awaited temporary-scaffolding removal we've been waiting on. I hope I'm wrong though!

Alice is my favorite fantasyland ride and although safety is an obvious importance, I hope the new railings will not look like Blackpool's Alice ride (I think it had a similar problem; it used to not have railings on the outdoor portion. Still, it looks better than Disney's current condition). The tarps I definitely believe are just temporary; Disney can do so much better at that if it were to be permanent.

I am so glad for this great news! Thanks for sharing!
