  • [Question] Random, Out of Place objects at Disneyland...and DCA

    Ok.

This has been bugging me for the longest time. It's on Space Mountain. Right as you're coming down the ramp before the loading area, there is this...random...odd, animal "cage/crate" that is just sitting there off the side. (look to your left from the left ailse - the one that's usually open).

What is the purpose of that? Is it for the service dogs that accompany certain guests through the park? I know I don't have a picture of it (I keep forgetting).

Anyone else have any stories of random objects that appear out of place in Disneyland? DCA? Kudos if you know what I'm talking about.
As of 6/15, Merida is now my favorite Princess...Sorry, Cinderella. Thanks for the memories.

I saw that a couple weekends ago when I was there. I thought it would be a great place to leave the kids while I went on the ride.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, is it the crate where the FedEx (or maybe it was some other shipping company) robot used to be? If so, it was just a prop to promote FedEx, I believe.

        Oh, you mean this?

The cages are for service animals; I have also spotted one in the Matterhorn line. They may have been installed as a result of this lawsuit:

Yes! Thank you, dfan. I had a feeling it was related to something for those hard working pups...I'm surprised I haven't seen it used since it's been there.

Those hard working pups should really have more entertainment while their humans go and have fun.

It's all good! It's just I haven't noticed until the first trip since March...and it was just...kind of foreign to me. I wonder if Disney will start putting more of these crates around the parks.

Don't give Dobby any ideas now...hahaha Maybe I'll park him over at Fantasy Faire with a Horde of Little Pink Princesses! Or tie him to a popcorn cart...

And that's from the outside! From the inside it's like Casey Jr. without the Circus!

Those crates look as though they'd be frightening to dogs - not the crate itself, but the fact that it's located in a very busy/noisy/high traffic area, and the fact that the dog would be shut in there without its owner being nearby. Do service dogs really do okay with this?

Service dogs are usually a brave, well trained bunch.
