Why can't they do these on the weekend?

Most likely to alter AP attendance patterns. They figure if you come out during the week you are less likely to come on the weekend, thereby making crowds lighter. I'm not sure if it is actually effective, but they way they keep doing it makes it seem so. Or perhaps they just don't want to encourage extra weekend visitors by haven an event then...

I'm sure you're right, CassiefRN. It was actually more of a rhetorical question made out of disappointment. It sounds like a great event, but it's frustrating, because going means missing work...or at least taking a long lunch break...

I know the question was rhetorical, but another possible reason for those wondering--it's also about availability.

It's easier to get special presenters to come on a weekday, than on a weekend. Many of the artists and Imagineers that are speaking at these AP/Limited Time Magic offerings work Monday - Friday (an assumption). Scheduling an event on a weekend means they're giving up a day off. Having planned special events in the past, I always found it more difficult to get speakers on weekends--unless the speaker fee/incentive was too good to pass. But if you can offer them a weekday spot, they were more willing to accept the invitation.

Might try for at least one of them.

As a former AP holder I'm looking at the classic animation screenings with a bit of envy (films made for the big screen are better in a theater) but I *did* get into the Magical Map blog event and that didn't even require an AP.

That small AP increase seems like a bargain now.
