  • [Chat] Old Fastpass trick

You guys may think I am being ridiculous here, but when I went to Disneyland in 2002 I came upon this button behind most fastpass machine. I wondered what it did so I pressed it and a fastpass came out. I didn't put my ticket in or anything. I can remember 6 year old me pushing the button numerous times and handing them out to anyone who was coming to get a fastpass. The two attractions I remember this working on is California screamin and GRR. Did anyone else do this or abuse this?

I don't think you can get your hands onto that button with all those CMs around!

How can it be anything but cheating/abusing they system. Why would you think otherwise?

This button did used to exist on the machines when they first appeared, however it has long since been non-functional.

...maybe because the OP was 6 years old? I would guess that this ease of abuse by children may have lead to the change in the way that the machines operated.

 So much for excusing the behavior by saying he was only 6... haha

But the poster is now 19 and is asking if it is abuse.

                      Re: Old Fastpass trick

I was under the impression that the manual fastpass release is now controlled by a locked, CM-only panel. Used for cases where the ticket's barcode has been damaged in someway that makes it unreadable by the machine.

                        Re: Old Fastpass trick

I have seen the machines opened and inside near the printer there is a red button to have a manual ticket print out. So the button was moved inside where less 6 year olds can reach

                          Re: Old Fastpass trick

They locked the fastpass machines awhile back because there were too many people pushing the "magic button". Now the CMs have to use a key for it to work.

I remember this trick, the buttons were turned off around 2005. The buttons on the FP machines in WDW worked until a year after DL disabled theirs.

I remember way back when fp machines appeared all sorts of cards would spit out a fp. Petsmart cards worked for a few years if I remember right.
