  • [Question] Mickey Halloween party question

My wife and I are finally going to be able to attend Mickey's Halloween Party this year (Sept 27th) and we were wondering if there is a cap to how many tickets they sell for these kind of events, or does the park end up being just as crowded as usual. We are incredibly excited regardless of the crowd level as this will be the first time we have been able to make it to one of the ticketed parties at the park.

Any info you guys have about what to expect at the Halloween party will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

There is always a capacity for an enclosed public place.

Tickets will sell out for the first party, that is normal.

During the parties, it gets crowded in areas, not the whole park. Except for some big and the special themed rides, SMGG and HMH the lines are short for rides. The hub and Mainstreet are crowded because people stake out places for the parade and fireworks extra early. Some of the trick or treat stations have lines but some move along well. Characters Greets have long lines too.

The catch 22 is you want to see the fireworks and parade, so you will spend time in the crowd doing that. You can ride any of the rides another day so don't have to save HMH for that party. Find the short waits for candy if you want candy(bring an extra bag and expect to take come several pounds). It's nice to catch the special party only characters and regular characters in costumes, but expect to wait, most of the villians are out all season so do them another time.

Thanks! We are going to be there for four days so, we probably won't worry too much about the plused rides during the party and will focus the party only events.

Since you have the extra time do HMH and SMGG to your hearts delight on weekdays they may be busy but in the morning and with FastPass will beat hour plus lines during the parties. Also visit the villains back by Small World.

If you haven't got tickets yet, a party ticket allows your into the park, costumes and all 3 hours early, so 4 pm. You may want to sleep in and relax and then go in the late afternoon. It can be a money saving strategy.

Also be ready for a crush of people. Fridays are really busy in the evening. So on that Friday when guest start arriving and party guests are there too it's pretty bad until the party starts at 7, then the regular guests are directed out. During that 5 to 7 period is a great time to have a dinner reservation if you want a sit down meal.

Basically, expect the lines for candy and characters will be long.
It's actually "Cars Land", not "Carsland".

They're long, but they move quickly.

They can sell out. I saw on the website when I bought my Oct 1st party ticket that the October 4th party was already sold out. That makes me nervous because my parents are supposed to come with us but can't buy their tickets until this month.

while they do sale out quickly, last year my husband discovered people were selling sold out tickets to the event on ebay! individual tickets were running 350 a piece, and they had multiple bids on them. I hate how people take advantage of others like that, but I guess that is how somethings just are.

                  Re: Mickey Halloween party question

I went 2 years ago and I relied on discussion boards to plan my trip. We were a family of 10 so getting everyone in one area was hard but a duo or small group should be considerably easy to navigate through the park. My number one advice is plan ahead as much as you can. It’s not about following a schedule but having a sense of direction of what you would like to do. There is a lot going on and it’s hard to do everything on the list so set realistic expectations and enjoy what you can do. Willing to share more, if interested.

It's a fair guess that about 3/4 of the parties will sell out, but not until the day of for most of them. The Fridays sell out quicker. The first party and Halloween Day are likely to sell out much sooner.

While not reliable so don't plan on it, sometimes they have sold tickets to the party at the gates, even though the advance sales said sold out.

                      Re: Mickey Halloween party question

I have always wanted to go to one of these parties, but I am intimidated by the costumes. I see people in gorgeous costumes and I marvel at how they pulled those off. When I try to put a costume together, it never turns out right and I end up feeling stupid. I don't know how some people are so creative or where they find their costumes. I know some people make their costumes but that is just beyond anything I could ever in my lifetime do.

I wonder if maybe I could just find some fun Halloween-inspired shirts or something to wear. Like with pumpkins on them or something. If anyone knows a website or a thread that helps people who don't know how to dress up for these parties I would love to see that. I wish I had a creative friend who knew about all this stuff but I don't have a lot of friends and the ones I do have aren't very talented with costume making.

Me and my wife went last year. Had a blast and we are going again this year. We brought back lots and lots of candy. It was fun seeing all the creative people in costume. if you are interested in getting candy be sure to take a fabric re-usable bag with you. They give you small bags, but they fill up with in the first or second stop. We used the smaller bag as we went to the candy stations then poured them into the bigger bags. We ended up with about 10 lbs of candy between the 2 of us.

Pintrest will have plenty of ideas. Disney sells tons of Halloween shirts. Costume shops even walmart has Disney costumes. Ebay and amazon. Simple or elaborate it's all out there.
