News New Space Mountain Audio Track?

So, the Disney Parks Youtube channel just posted this video today: Sounds from Space Mountain - YouTube.

It's five seconds of audio that's supposedly from a new audio track for Space Mountain, as the description says.

"A sample of the new Space Mountain audio."

I haven't heard anything about this, so is this just for Florida, or is this something that is coming to California as well?

The picture shows the Space Mountain sign in Florida. However considering their videos from the past that means nothing.

To me it sounds like the soundtrack after the photo is taken and the rocket is back in the loading station, just with a little more dubstep

It's the one in WDW, not DL. I went to WDW recently and that's what it sounded like to me. Hopefully, the one in DL will stay the same for you fans who love the soundtrack.

I couldn't imagine them changing the music for the one in California. It's epic and thrilling at the same time, and it compliments the attraction perfectly.

You're right. It's the best ever - kudos on getting Dick Dale to come in and create the ultimate soundtrack.

Michael Giachinno did Disneyland and Paris' space mountain themes back when they were redone, and then WDW used the theme for their exit tunnel. Florida then did that very long refurb to put in new track and darken things up and everyone expected a soundtrack but it never happened. Even the paint job on the exterior was unfinished. Then after a few months they introduced the Starry-o-phonic sound where they had a few speakers playing swoosh effects or limited music going on in the ride and you would just zoom by them..

Hopefully this means FINALLY wdw is going to figure out a way to put onboard soundtracks in the ride. Probably not. Maybe just blast the song some more in ride portions. That theme doesn't sound new though. It sounds like Giacchino's.
