  • [Question] You've just boarded Pirates...

As you drift through the Blue Bayou lagoon, do you pay any attention to the restaurant? Is it clashing with the scenery and tranquility on the left side of the boat for you? Our setting that seems to be more secluded than what we're seeing to the right.

Were we ever supposed to notice the restaurant or are we "somewhere else", with an invisible wall separating the bayou and the restaurant?

I notice it when I'm boarding but by the time we start moving I usually am distracted by the bayou and don't notice it.

I notice it every time... and wish that it had only about 12 tables, a dress code, and a wine license.

I'm just glad they scrubbed the proposed "Captain Phillips" movie tie-in/overlay for that scene.

The artwork that leaked was terrifying.

I love the fact that you can see the BB and they can see you.

I've always seen passing the Blue Bayou as part of the transition from the world of Disneyland's New Orleans Square (which itself is two levels removed from the outside world) to the world of Pirates of the Caribbean, a transition which extends from the loading dock to the waterfalls.

I don't think it is a distraction at all. I think it's kinda cool that I can see an 'outdoor' restaurant with actual people eating there. The BB and the bayou sort of go together.

Like Wiggins stated; it adds to the transition. I think the brick archway you pass through right after BB adds to this transition as well.

I notice BB way more if I'm on the right side of the boat. However I always hope and keep my fingers crossed that there aren't any Chatty Cathy's behind us during that part of the ride.

I love seeing BB there, and love eating at the BB and watching the boats go by. The archway is the transition for me as I ride. This is something that is unique to DL; WDW MK has nothing like it.

The only thing about it that distracts me is the sunlight streaming through the open door. I'd love for them to hang up a blackout curtain for this.

I think it fits with the ride. The real New Orleans sits right on the edge of the river and bleeds into the swamps and bayou, especiallly heading downriver from the French Quarter towards the battlefields. The BB reflects that transition very well, IMHO.

BB has never negatively distracted me.

People talking throughout the ride... Now THAT...

I like to look at the alligator lurking in the dark waters on the other side of the track.

Blue Bayou has never distracted me and I have never wished it wasn't there. Whenever I ride I look over at BB, even if they aren't open for service yet.
