  • Goofy's Bounce House

    Hi there,

I think I missed something in the posts and articles about Goofy's Bounce House. What did the attraction used to be like, and why did the lawyers think it was to dangerous?

Was it just a plain inflatable floor bouncing room? This was too dangerous????

    Thanks,
    RY

Yup. Well, inflatable furniture too. And padded walls.

In the nauseatingly litigious society we have in America? Yeah, too dangerous.

Some kid probably bent back a fingernail and cried to his mommy, who in turn filed a (frivilus) lawsuit, so the suits at Disney decided that the attraction was too dangerous and shut it down.

It never ceases to amaze me how someone can poke himself in the eye with his own fork, then sue the MFG of the fork and win money.

      Somethings gotta change...

It's cheaper to maintain. Makes the area more useful for everyone. Utilizes mostly unused space. It's a great idea. Not every removal has to be because of sue-happy ding-dongs.

Because everyone knows solid and hard playground equipment is more safe than a moon bounce.

Then why did they get rid of the bounce equipment in the bounce house if it was not a lawyer decision? They could of kept the bounce house and made the playground as well.

the new playground really is a disgrace. it's a whole lot of wasted space. if people thought a bounce house at DL was bad, the new playground is worse than the ones they have at malls.

I'll miss the bounce house. My kids had lots of fun in it - and it got out a little bit of energy. Great fun, just before we left the park!

                  RIP my childhood.
Well, light travels from the sun. Then, bounces off of our planet, and back into our eyes so we can perceive color. My body can intercept that light and dance around on it!

Golly, why do people get so bluntly political about such a subject?

The current playground is cheaper to maintain, as noted, and has less problems with vomit and urine spills, I'd imagine. The last attraction wasn't really a barnburner, so it's not as big a loss as 20K/Subs becoming a similar playground at WDW. I know that my life isn't impacted any by the loss of an overrated Bouncy Castle.

While Al complained about how much he disliked it in his last update, he also made note of how busy and popular it is.

Exactly. Not to mention, it went from one kiddie concept to another. Big whoop, it's still not something I can enjoy as an adult but at least I can go inside now. They should make a formal meet and greet for Goofy inside.

They are using space better, the queue is now a playground and the house is now open to those taller than 40". I'm willing to bet that it was a combo...both lawyers and maintenance.

I do not know why anyone is upset about this, this is what disney does, Changes. I think the firework show should be called Changes instead of wishes. Yeah I know thats not the real name of the show, but in conclusion we have seen a lot of attractions come and go over the years, not to mention the ugly PC pirates. Maybe they could get David Bowie to do the New firework show "Changes".
