Thanks Garrett! I actually have the whole show on DVD. It was fun for it's time.

              God that thing was weird.

One thing I DON'T miss about the 80's - how we thought we would be dressed in space.

Whoopi Goldberg (back from her Jumpin Jack Flash days?), Eric Estrada and Mark Hamill.... wow! haha...

                  Awww poor Frank Wells...

I really miss Captain EO. HISTA would be so much more watchable if there was some singing and dancing. I remember hearing stories from my cousins how their parents woke them up at 2am and drove down to Disneyland for the premiere of EO.

Did they not used to soft-open attractions in those days?

Anyway, thanks for posting the video, it was really neat to see!

Wow Mark Hamill sounded really... stupid. I used to have the biggest crush on him. In retrospect I ask myself, why?

Yep, I was there! From another thread about the event:

Back many years ago, when I was in high school, Disneyland had a promo for the opening of Captain Eo. They opened Friday and didn't close until Sunday night.

So our plan : Go noon on Sat, stay all night and as long as we could Sunday. We'd see EO in the middle of the night when the line would be shorter. We would take "no-dose" you get at 7-11 when needed.

So - we saw EO after about 1.5 hour wait. Slept a bit in the restaurant next to Casey Jr. Took the no-dose around 3am. It kept me up alright, but coming down was HARD. We ended up leaving around noon Sunday, and I still remember the ride home. Friend went to sleep and I had the radio up and window open trying to stay up. I did, but just barely!

It's the most tired I've ever been, and it was an awful last few hours. But heh, I've got my EO t-shirt! ;-)

LOL - I miss my shirt!! I was there for the opening also, I think that was the only time we saw it... Maybe I just blocked it out - who knows!

Michael Jackson was amazing in it, too bad to see he had to do through so much and he has turned into this strange phenomenon... It proved what a piece of crap HISTA is compared to a movie made by real talents.
