  • Personal Milestones at DL

I was just thinking about the claim that many of us make that we "grew up at DL"...I was just curious as to what personal firsts people had experienced at Disneyland. For example, I'm sure many here had their first kiss there, or their honeymoon, or something else along those lines. Did anyone here have their first legal alcoholic drink at DCA? Or, better yet, Club 33?

As for me - I had my first real job interview (with Intel) on a cell phone while sitting in the car in Mickey & Friends. And I got my first (and only) detention for missing the workshop at Magic Music Days due to a slow-loading it's a small world queue. That's all I can think of right now, but I'd love to hear what other personal milestones people have experienced at our favorite park as it gets closer to its birthday.

The only thing I can think of right away.....it's the only Theme Park I have visited as many times as I have. No other tourist attraction comes close! Oh, it was also the first place I ever filled out a work application for...many moons ago! Didn't get the job, but sure would have like to.....Took another one instead. Still would like to work there, but I get paid better elsewhere.....maybe when I retire!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

The only first i can think of are:

First time I went to Disneyland "alone" (without my dad chaperoning my friends and I) was in sixth grade. my sister signed my friend and I in and we had soooooo much fun. We ate ice cream sundae's for dinner!!!!!

First time I went to Club 33 (been 3 times) was in December 1999. For my anniversary with my, now ex husband.

The first time I took my gorgeous neice to Disneyland was in November 1997 at the rededication of the DRR. She was dressed in her pink overalls and pink conductors hat and EVERYONE thought she was the cutest thing ever.

The first time I took my niece to Disneyland just her and I had brought some Corn Pops for her to snack on. As soon as that baggie came into plain view, she held onto it and never let it go. Every picture I have of her from that night, she's holding that bag of Pops!!!!

I was conceived on the Adventure thru Inner Space. That's a very personal milestone.

I turned 18 there and had my twin brother and 4 of my best friends with me to celebrate that and our high school graduation. It was the first time I was there without my parents.

Me too--sometime in the spring of 1998. Got myself dis-engaged sometime that summer.

I lost my first tooth there.

I had my first kiss on It's A Small World.

My dad took my brother and I both there for every birthday and New Year's Eve celebration from '78 when I was born til I was like 15.

I now take my daughter there, like clockwork, on her birthday and New Year's. I hope she gets the same kind of wonderful memories I have.

My wife and I got engaged at Snow White's Grotto October 4, 1996. A day I will never forget. After she said yes we got to ride on the Lillie Belle on the DLRR. That was amazing!
