Here's some pictures that I scanned recently from my grandfathers slide collection. I'm not sure what year these were taken, but from the styles that are evident here, I'm thinking sometime between 68 and 74. Enjoy.

Boy...you forget how RED those early 1970's were until you look at some vinatage shots. I remember being very red just before 1974 when we took a trip up to the World's Fair.
When we came back, I think I was orange.
Great shots! Thanks for sharing them!

Most folks probably don't remember that there was a radio station in the old Disneyland hotel circa the late 60's. The now defunct KEZY AM 1190 had studios there near the Monorail platform as I recall, before their eventual move to Ball Road at East Street. I remember it well..."And the temperature now, high atop the Magic Kingdom, is 56 degrees"....
Again a bit off-topic...And an old Long Beach station, KNOB-FM, had studios in the old Hyatt House that used to be across the street on Harbor Boulevard...just north of the Grand Hotel.
Both long gone, along with the great old Disneyland Hotel sign.
Oogie Boogie, as usual your pics bring back lots of great memories for me...red, green, black, white...misty water color memories...of the way we were...Can it be that it was all so simple then...OOPS.
I'll stop now...

Used to love going to the hotel and the underwater arcade.
That old maritime antique shop was always cool, and we used to always stop for ice creame at Maisy's and there was that Fantasmic shop. with really great unique Disney merchandise, right next to the toy shop.
Ah memories

Re: Pictures from the Disneyland Hotel.. late 60's / early 70's
My first memory of Disneyland is actually of the Monorail Cafe at the Disneyland Hotel. My grandfather had a motor home and we would come down to the park in it and stay at Vacationland (The campground that was about a block up from the hotel). We would walk down to the hotel every morning and have breakfast in the Monorail Cafe while watching the monorail and all the people going up the steps to it and the smiles on everyones faces.
As I became older, I remember St Prestons Yukon Saloon (having my first drink there when I turned 21), The White Rabbit 1 hour photo at the back of the main gift shop, the underwater arcade when it first went in, and Small World of Toys, the toy shop that was at the base of the northern tower and the hair salon that was next to it. Yah these pictures bring back memories for me as well.Growing older is manditory
