  • Star Wars Weekends coming to DLR... maybe!

So a friend who is a CM (creative) made a group pilgrimage to WDW a couple weekends ago for work... to study the possibility of bringing Star Wars Weekends to DLR. The DLR team was pretty impressed with the whole event/attendance. They discussed things like putting the Jedi Training show on at the Tomorrowland Terrace, and how all of the assets already invested in by WDW (costuming/props etc.) could be shipped to DLR to use if it was planned for a different month than the WDW version. Economically it wouldn't be that outrageous to produce. Expect it as soon as next year to capitalize on the 30th Anniversary of the original (SW:E4:ANH). Sounds like an awesome idea to me, I can't wait!

I plan to be there and will make sure my father attends as well. (Although he doesn't like to admit it, I've got daddy wrapped around my little finger )

Well, if they kept it during May (having a 'sister weekend') that'd be grand for me, as I plan to be in the US again May 2008. I'll try and catch one or the other, because they sound like fun. I'd ideally like to see the DL version, simply because I have been on all the rides at DL and the pressure is not as great to fit as many other things in. When I go to WDW, it will be my first time there.

That would be cool. The event at WDW has always been pretty fun. I'm sure it would attract a few more folks and be pretty entertaining as another thing to see for all the regulars.
Warning: Portions of this attraction are intense and may not be appropriate for younger children.

I think Star Wars Weekend at the DLR is the best idea concieved since Peantbutter and Jelly. (I love a good PB n J)

                  However...
I think it should happen on the same weenend as the WDW event and I think it should take place at DCA! (thats right i went there! what?)
Im tired of DL being sooo crowded all the time. It wears me out.

what if Star Tours stays in DL (refurb'd or not) but a totally new SW based ride is developed and placed in DCA!!! The ride would open the sam weekend as the inagural DLR SW Wknd. No thats a marketing dream in the making we should be excited about!
